The San Francisco Chronicle reports Oakland Raiders RB Dominic Rhodes, the starting running back for two exhibition games, has moved to scout-team duty as the Raiders prepare to start the season without him. Rhodes, signed as a free agent from Indianapolis in the offseason, will serve a four-game suspension in September for violating the league's drug policy before joining Oakland. With that in mind, the snaps are going to players who will be available when the season starts.

The Contra Costa Times reports Oakland Raiders SS Donovin Darius (calf) practiced Tuesday and could play against St. Louis. S Hiram Eugene (hairline fracture of left wrist) won't play this week with a wrist injury but will not need surgery, HC Lane Kiffin said. The San Francisco Chronicle adds CB Duane Starks (hamstring) and CB Stanford Routt (knee) remained out. Undrafted rookie WR Chris McFoy dressed but did not practice.

The Denver Post reports DT Gerard Warren officially made the transition from being a Bronco to a Raider on Tuesday by passing his physical and practicing with his new team. It was the first step of the Broncos getting a fifth-round pick in next year's draft from the Raiders. If Warren is on the roster for any Oakland game this season, the Broncos get the draft pick. If the Raiders cut Warren before their Sept. 9 opener and re-sign him, they still would owe Denver the draft pick if he makes the roster in any game. Also, if the Raiders trade Warren before the season, they still have to give Denver the pick. "This situation I think is a lot better, a lot brighter for me in Oakland than it was for me in Denver," Warren said Tuesday at Raiders headquarters. "Coach (Mike) Shanahan and I had meetings and conversations, and he told me I was basically doing all the things they asked me to do. They just thought I would flourish better in a different scheme than the one that we had now."
