purely hypothetical but

Trade 4th round draft pick for David Carr QB Texans
Trade Randy Moss + 3rd round pick for GB 1st rounder #16 overall
Sign Daniel Graham
Sign a G (Steinbach preferably)

1a - Calvin Johnson
1b - Marshawn Lynch
2 - Joe Staley
3 - Brian Leonard
5th + BPA

QB - Carr, Walter, FA
RB - Lynch, Jordan, Fargas
FB - Leonard, Crockett
WR - Johnson, Porter, Curry, Gabriel, Morant
TE - Graham, Anderson
LT - Gallery
LG - Steinbach
C - Grove
RG - Boothe
RT - Staley

McQ competes with boothe and Staley for RG/RT

D is largely unchanged though we change around some depth and potentially get a pass rusher to replace Lance Johnstone late

That would be a "shit your pants" offseason. Even those that want a QB or Petersen couldn't fault those results IMO.

Lang, that is a great scenario.

Now put down the pipe man! :D

I'm gonna pretend we get nothing in FA.

Barry Sims-gone

Moss--traded for a 3rd round pick.
Aaron Brooks-gone

1. Jamarcus Russell--The kid gets his feet wet this year, takes over as starter mideason.

2. Joe Staley--has the athletic ability to zone block. Battles for RT right away.

3a. Michael Bush--His inability to work out scares teams off, and he falls into the Raiders lap as the 2nd round ends.

3b. Ikaika-Alama Francis--Exceptional athlete, who joins a rotation of Burgess, Huntley, and Brayton.

4. Ben Patrick--Mike Mayock can't believe the Deleware bruiser is still available at the end of the first day.

5a. Marcus Thomas--The Raides can't let the talented DT slide any farther. Bay Area pot dealers rejoice.

5b. Dallas Sartz--The 6'5", 238 LB gets work on the strong side, providing insurance in case Sam Williams blows an O-ring playing XBox.

6. Le'Ron McClain--The Raiders finally shut their fan base up, by adding a brusing fullback to their team. McClain announces plans to add another capital letter to his name.

7. Calvin Bannister--At the 11th hour, Al Davis realizes the Raiders haven't drafted a defensive back. tragedy is averted. Bannister runs a 4.35.

Alama-Francis is my 'money in the bank' sleeper, asshole!

I like both those scenarios, guys.

If we could add to Mass'es and sign a G like Dielman or Dockery, and nab some DL depth, we're rollin...

Saving all my real picks for Little Al, sucker.

You realize that by everyone picking Staley and Leonard for us, there's no way we'll actually pick them, don't you?

Leonard is an absolute pipe dream.

He's not enough 'athlete' and too much of a 'football player' for Al to pull the trigger.

Staley makes too much sense.

Im worried about trading up from round 2 and pulling the trigger on: Ted Ginn.

Couldn't agree with you more on 'making sense' and on your Ginn-fears.

If you're looking for a ray of hope with regards to Leonard, Al used the very same pick we currently possess at the top of RD 3 to draft Jon Ritchie, who is built from the same mold...

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually like Tedd Ginn... granted he's still raw as far as route running and hands go, but he's only played receiver for two years now... As long as we don't do something stupid like use the #1 overall pick on him, I'd welcome his explosive open field speed as both a WR and returner...

I like him as well, just not in the top-10. I'm thinking late in the first round with Ginn Jr.

He's a game changer with not only his speed, but his elusiveness.

I'd rather have Bowe?

Oddly enough, when I look at Dwayne Bowe, I see a Jerry Porter clone.

They play the same way, have identical builds and size (6-2 220+) and I bet Bowe runs in the 4.4 range like JP. Bowe might be a better route runner.

I'd gladly take Bowe if he fell, although my personal favorite in round 2 would be Sidney Rice. 6-4 200 pounds and would have been a top 10 pick next year...

Put up 1000+ as a fresh/soph in the SEC? Dude can ball.

Meachem is seriously underrateed too. He's a first rounder most years, IMO.

I like that scenario, I'm really on the Joe Staley and Ben Patrick bandwagon. McClain is a "no brainer" IMO. I don't think that Bush falls to the third though.

You know, with the amount of skill position guys that'll go in the first two rounds, it wouldn't surprise me to see a big back with injury questions like him fall. Plus, I wonder how many teams will be looking for a back in the second.

Bush has Eric Shelton's pro career working against him as well. I hate that whole school of thought, but I could see Bush getting lumped in with Shelton as a product of Petrino and Louisville.

If he can work out and look good, he might even go in the first, but if he can't, I could easily, easily see him there at #65.

I actually think Patrick where I have us taking him is more of a stretch. Looked good at the Senior Bowl, and Senior Bowl stars seldom fall. But that's the earliest I see us taking a TE, unless Miller or Olsen are there at #33.

Really good point about Shelton. I didnt even think of that, ouch.

I gotta tell you, if the above scenario played out, I'd be inclined to go:

1a: Adrian Peterson
1b: Lawrence Timmons (OLB is not a need, but I think he'll be a "Did you just effen see that?" perenial pro bowl player at the next level that will really be able to go and get the QB...)
2: Zach Miller (Even if we sign Graham, you can't ignore his injury history and the importance of running two TE sets)
3: Marcus Thomas

McQuistan is now listed as an OT, so I imagine he'll get a look as our starting RT... Like I said before, I'd look to bring in Tra Thomas to play there in the interim...

I'm in the minority again, but I don't feel it's imperative that we draft a WR on the first day... Even if Moss is gone as anticipated, I'm comfortable going with Curry, Porter, Gabriel, Morant and Madsen... If a Ginn or Meachum does slip to 33, then yeah... I'd even be open to adding an Ashley Lelie or Kelly Washington in free agency if we have no confidence past Curry and Porter... Curry and Porter are both natural flankers/slots, so adding a Lelie or Meachum to play split end makes sense if we don't think Gabes up to it... Otherwise, waiting till day two to add an Aundrae Allison or Syvelle Newton is acceptable to me... perhaps a Steve Smith will even slip with the abundance of WR's...

If Steve Smith should slip out of round three to our Rnd 4 pcik that would be perfect.

I took Joe Staley in rd 2 in a mock I'm doing.. Did a lot of research on the guy before selecting, everything I found out about the guy was positive, fast, quick feet, long arms and excells in pass protecting.... a legit LT prospect tagged by many NFL scouts, some have said he will be the best tackle outta this draft behind Thomas when its all said and done. The best thing apparently about him is that he has the best feet of all tackles including Thomas.. Finally eh? Gallery probably has the worst feet, he's to slow outta the stance and when he moves to get set, DE are catching him with his feet moving and bullrushing him.

Joe Staley, gets out fast, lightning fast and gets his feet planted quickly..

Considering we have complete dogshit as far as depth at tackle.. I had to take him with the 1st pick in rd 2 in my mock and the more I read on the guy the more glad I am.. I hope this turns out to be the actual pick for us in April

Long arms huh?

What?..T-Rex gets the 'ol mustard in eye trick fro the Nips?

Leonard is far more versatile than Ritchie IMO. More of a young Mike Alstott.

I seriously doubt he'll be there when our 3rd rolls around.
