Is it me or has he been horrible all night?

Had Reggie Brown, that punt returner, and couple of big plays from the D did not step up, Miami would be in trouble. I did not see Daunte make the big plays that I am used to seeing. He looked okay, but he is much better than that.

BTW, tonight's game has been a dud to watch. Both teams look sloppy.

Looks to me like he's tentative and favoring his knee. I dunno.

Listening to the announcer crew you'd think he was 35 for 40 with 4 TDs.

You have to hope that he is still hurting. If he is healthy and if this is what he is going to do, Dolphins will not be a playoff team. I am a Culpepper fan, but let's be real. Batch has outplayed him all night. Has Daunte made a big play tonight? I don't think so.

Three minutes to go, Daunte has to show why he was acquired. He needs to step up right now.

Two ints in last two possessions. Not good.

Well Vikings fans are going to laugh it up. Daunte looked horrible all night and if he keeps playing like that, Dolfans will hate him.

I am not going to sugarcoat his performance and knowing Daunte, he can't be happy with his play either. This was simply an atrocious performance. Those last two plays said it all. He is going to have to learn how to play and excel in tight games. He is going to have to play against a tough NE defense and a tough Jets defense being in the AFC East. If he looked tentative against Pitt, how he will do against the Pats and Jets who have coaches that run good defense.

Wasn't that alwasy his problem? -- excelling in tight, tough games?

Yeah, he looked horrible tonight.

Well that's the rap, but I never found that to be a problem with Daunte with the Vikings. Vikings problem during the Randy and Daunte era was that the defense wasn't that good.

Daunte has no excuses now. He has a great coaching staff and he has a good defense. At some point, he needs to step up and get it done. This was not his finest moment.

Broncos fans weighing in on Daunte. Lot of football fans really ripped him tonight and deservedly so. Vikings fans, who hate Culpepper, had their fun too.

I am not going to give up on Daunte on one game. It will take time. It seems like he was in pain at times. Did he played great? No and he knows he didn't. With that said, you have to figure it can't get worse, right.

If Daunte struggles against a horrible Bills team, you will hear fans start calling for Joey Harrington and if this season starts getting to crisis, Nick Saban will not be scared to take Daunte out. Saban is about production. He ain't going to babysit or coodle Daunte the way Mike Tice did.

As for the Steelers, they played a great game. Give em credit. Their defense was good. Batch made good decisions overall and he made plays. He looked poised. If the Vikings want a team to emaulate, emulate the Steelers success. They just find ways to win and they get players to excel. They got players who play the game right. Steelers are not a team that have players that have style. They got players that have substance and it's a credit to how Cowher gets the most of the players and how Larry Colbert and the front office get the right players year after year. Somehow, I don't ever expect the Vikings to get that success under Childress.
