Ours are so much better here.

I, uh, mean, pass.

given the pilot is a she, I'm thinking he didn't actually believe that and just cut to the chase.

I got on a plane with a female pilot once. A blonde, no less. Pretty sure she didn't hear me, but as I boarded, I did say "Uh oh."

Colonoscopy tomorrow. No food or coffee today, just miserable.

Oh joy. Have fun?

Took a friend of mine to the ER the other day. They kept her and gave her a heart cath the next day because her enzymes were out of control. 100% blockage in one artery or something. She's been to the ER at least a dozen times over the past year or so, convinced there was something wrong. Scans always came back clean. The enzyme thing has been there all along, but they dismissed it as being due to her high blood pressure. Finally got with a doctor willing to go the extra mile rather than shrug and move on when the scans didn't show anything. Probably saved her life.

Moral of the story: We give doctors way too much benefit of the doubt. Anything serious enough to see a doctor about is serious enough to get a second or third opinion. Went through this same shit with my dad and my grandmother. Never mistake a doctor's apathy for a clean bill of health.
