My son played competitive travel hockey here in Florida. That was over 25 years ago. I have a few parents in my boxing gym whose kids play now. I can't believe how much skates and equipment are now. $800-1000 for skates. GTFOH I was bitching when he wanted the carbon fiber sticks for $100 back in the day lol. This doesn't even include team, travel and tournament fees.

Youth sports are out of control. I deal with the aftermath in collegiate athletics. Spoiled kids and helicopter parents.

Even then, Washington warned them about the British escaping across the river since he pulled off that maneuver at Long Island. The French laughed it off. Fortunately, a providential wind scattered the British boats and ruined Cornwallis' plans.
