The 6-foot-4, 234-pound junior is projected as a top five pick. But first, he is prepping for the league's scouting combine in Indianapolis next week.

Tuesday, speed and conditioning coach Tom Shaw put Johnson and several dozen college players through a workout.

Johnson was clocked at 4.33 in the 40, recorded an 11-foot standing broad jump and had a vertical leap of 43 inches.

I, for one, don't care if it's a 4.2, a 4.3, a 4.4, a 4.5, or what.

If a guy can play football, I don't care either.

Al Davis might, however.

:)

Man CJ is going to be a monster tho. He really is going to dominate in the NFL after a few season's. He is probably the one player I have watched the most of and he is worth the hype. His QB was a shrimp bum who could barely get him the ball. With a good QB this guy is gonna blow-up.

If you're the size of a linebacker and you can run that fast and you can catch... well now I'm interested.

I think CJ is creeping up the draft board to us... I'd be up for keeping randy around for a year just to see a DB brick himself choosing between randy or CJ or JP...

Moving up to the 1st spot from either the 3rd or 4th position will cost that team its 2nd and 3rd rd'er

I hope CJ blows up in the combines, the Browns or the Bucs trade up to #1 with Oakland giving the Raiders the 33 & 35th pick in rd 2, the 65 & 68th pick in rd 3

And they could still land Russell at pick #3

We could be sitting pretty frekin good with 2 picks in the top 4 of rd's 2 & 3

Wasn't somone just saying how he was dropping??????????

That will CHANGE!

This is the best thing that can happen for us. If players start putting up crazy #'s we will have more options.

Looked smooth doing it too. And they say he wasn't expecting to run so he left his shoes at home and ran in some shoes he borrowed from one of the quarterbacks.

Mayock also said the word he's hearing is that Jarrett, who isn't running, is only doing mid 4.7s in his training runs.

Sorry accidently deleted my post while editing Banter...

Uh yeah... I'll be damned if the dude didn't actually do it.... He ran a fricken 4.35 at the combine... I officially eat my words.... So if CJ timed 4.35, what the hell would Ginn have posted?...

Johnson running a 4.35 at 239lbs is absolutely ridiculous. Given that Russell and Quinn both elected to not throw, don't be surprised to see a lot of mocks out there with the Raiders taking Johnson. Even though Moss and Porter are coming back, those are both seen as temporary (2 yrs or less) scenarios, so it stands to reason some folks are going to talk about Johnson coming to Oakland.

Doesn't someone owe us all some hard cash now?

I'd be willing to paypal everyone on this site 10 bucks if CJ runs a sub 4.35 at the combine.

It wasnt 'sub' 4.35....

Im still embarrased.

Good news for Oakland

Some teams gonna drop a lotta picks on Oaklands lap to get that #1 pick to acquire CJ

Would be tits if we could actually get a couple high picks and still get the player we were targeted to take at #1 anyways...

So for a re-cap. Quinn more impressively prepared for the combine than JR(6-pack/spare tire), CJ one of the biggest athletic freaks to ever enter the draft at WR. If AP runs a 4.3 things are going to get really hairy.

p.s Its hard for me to think CJ isnt #1 on AL's board. With this guys attitude and work ethic how can he not get a major look from the GOD of measurables big Al.

That is quite simply amazing. He just doesn't seem that fast when I have seen him play.
