CHIEFS NOTES | A glut of tackles

On the same day John Welbourn arrived for practice, the Chiefs signed yet another offensive tackle, Chris Terry, to a two-year contract.
Once Welbourn is activated, the Chiefs will have six tackles, including starters Jordan Black and Kevin Sampson and reserves Kyle Turley and Will Svitek.
Terry is talented but hasn’t played since being released by Seattle in March 2005. He began his career as a second-round draft pick of Carolina in 1999 and started for 3 1/2 seasons before his release in November 2002 after being charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.
He signed with Seattle and was a two-year starter there, but was suspended by the NFL for four games in 2003 for violation of the policies on substance abuse and personal conduct.
He remembers Arrowhead
Quarterback Seneca Wallace has some fond memories of Arrowhead Stadium. Wallace, who will make his first NFL start Sunday for Seattle in place of the injured Matt Hasselbeck, played for Iowa State when the Cyclones faced third-ranked Florida State in 2002 at Arrowhead.
Iowa State spotted the Seminoles a 24-0 lead but staged a furious rally that fell short only because of a disputed call on the game’s final play. Wallace appeared to score a touchdown that would have tied the game and sent it to overtime, but officials ruled he was stopped short and the Cyclones lost 38-31.
“I remember a lot about it,” Wallace said. “It was a great atmosphere, just playing there and being able to come back and almost beat Florida State.”
He’s still bitter about the controversial call, though.
“I dove into the end zone,” he said. “I’ve got the pictures at home. They said I didn’t get into the end zone to tie the ballgame up and send it into overtime, possibly. We’ve got guys here that are from Florida State that I played against, and they all said I got into the end zone.”
Seattle’s Alexander still out
Shaun Alexander is running for the first time since he broke his left foot last month, putting him on track to return for the Seahawks next week after a four-game absence.
Alexander ran on a treadmill Tuesday and coach Mike Holmgren said Alexander, last season’s league MVP and NFL rushing leader, had no problems continuing his workouts on Wednesday. Seattle is expecting Alexander to play on Nov. 6 against Oakland.
He is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.
