Bull Jumps Into Stands During Bullfight
MEXICO CITY (Jan. 30) - A 1,108-pound bull named Pajarito - "Little Birdy" - jumped into the stands during a Mexico City bullfight, injuring several spectators before it was killed.
Television images showed the bull jumping from the ring into the stands on Sunday, landing on spectators who tried to scatter as the animal roared through the aisles.
Eventually, one of the bullfight participants, the banderillero, crawled up into the stands and stabbed and killed the bull.
At least two people were hospitalized.
The bullfight resumed 30 minutes after the incident, which occurred during the second fight of the day during one of Mexico City's most popular weekend sporting events.
