Raiders QB Brooks Likely Out Week 5, Maybe Week 6?
Silver and Black Blog, SFGate.com

Oakland Raiders quarterback Aaron Brooks said on Monday that he will likely not play in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers. Brooks also did not sound hopeful about playing in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos either.

This is good for our Raiders. We need to keep Walter in there and let him show what he has. A one week trial isn't enough.

Pretty convenient but I'll take it.

Exactly. Ride the pine, bitch!

This Brooks "injury" thing is starting to sound, well, "fishy" to me. Rupert has theorized that Brooks doesn't really want to play? Could be, but I'm also wondering if the Raiders have said,

"hey Aaron, you're obviously "injured" and you should sit awhile - wink, wink".

Sort of like how the Military will send certain Generals on "sick leave" if they haven't preformed well during a time of War?

Either way, he doesn't seem overly eager to return to action. Let's just hope that we see steady growth from Walter, as the franchise REALLY needs.

Also, Walter has had his best moments during preseason against the Whiners......

Isn't this what I said on Sunday? That I thought if Walter played decent (which he did inspite of the poor stats) that we might hear the injury isn't quite healed up? Yep...I think that is exactly what is happening and it's OK with me. we have to see if Walter is the man.

I really don't think Brooks wants to play with you guys anymore :(

That's ok, I really don't think we want him to play for us anymore, either!

:D

Possibly. I sometimes wonder if Brooks, Moss and Porter have decided that this situation is a joke and that they can't wait to get out. I say good riddance, the sooner the better in all three scenario's.

Pump up the volume, pump up the volume.

Well I think it's a conspiracy...Porter wants Moss gone, so he can PLAY!! :p

Nah, Porter wants Shell gone so he can go back to loafing in practice.

Or maybe he just wants to WIN Baby!! ;)

Nope, he wants to get paid for the least amount of work possible.

Kinda like Randy Moss these days?

Exactly the same thing. I didn't see the acquisition of Moss being a positive thing. Some of his statements seemed positive, until his most recent statements. I can't imagine that much gets done with these two dropping anchor.

In retrospect we probably didn't have the horses to take on Randy Moss and expect results. We've seen in the past his antics when his team wasn't winning. Now we're seeing it up close and personal so to speak.

He's been biting his tongue (sort of) but soon he's going to bust out and blast the organization and coach Shell I'm afraid. That will really be bad news. In fact I hope it doesn't happen but it seems inevitable.

Porter has already taken his act to the media. I don't think we've heard the last from him either this season. And as the losing continues it's just going to spread to the rest of the players. It's a natural progression.

A big win against San Francisco would help I think and maybe even kick start the team.

Well in order to get the big win...the players need to step up their level of play....mainly Moss...just from comments I've read from Raider fans...quite a few are upset with him...I didn't get to see the Cleveland game...heck, I hardly ever get to see a Raider game unless they're playing my team....but if the comments are true, Moss really wasn't even trying to help win that game.

Randy has been a loafer his whole career. To date he's got away with it because he produced huge results. Now that the results aren't there (not all hs fault) his loafing is not tolerable. He has to give 100% effort all the time but he doesn't. Why should he? He's never had to before. I mean that's his mentality. On a team like the Raiders whcih is young, inexperienced and searching for an identity this is what is required of all players.

Moss has been able to get away with it because its always been part of his style. He has the kind of rope-a-dope thing going on where he lulls a CB asleep and then whoosh he's off like a rocket with his hand up. His current teammates (especially Walter) don't know how to react. When Moss came out of his break last week, he was in mid-lope when Walter threw the ball as if Moss was at full speed. They aren't on the same page.

But I've been saying all week that Moss should have torn up the brownies weak secondary. If he has any pride at all, thats what he'll do to the whiners.

Well I guess we'll find out if he has any pride Sunday...or if he's just 'not concerned' about football right now.

Well I get the thing about the rope-a-dope but that isn't what's been happening in Oakland I don't think. We've watched Randy take plays off when he knows he isn't getting the football. He runs less than good routes and his demeanor is just crap right now. Don't say as I blame him -- he's frustrated too. But for $10 Million a year or whatever he's being paid I think we should be able to expect a little more from him. Whadda 'ya think?
