Broncos may chat with Lions QB Harrington

The Broncos may bring in Detroit Lions quarterback Joey Harrington for a visit. Although Harrington and Miami have a mutual interest, the Lions are looking for more draft trade compensation than the Dolphins may be offering. Last month, Denver coach Mike Shanahan said the team was interested in Harrington as a backup, but it could take some time.

Receivers Chad Jackson (Florida) and Sinorice Moss (Miami) visited the Broncos on Monday in preparation for the draft.

The Broncos promoted Chip Conway to vice president of operations, Rick Schoenhals vice president of information technology and Kirk Dyer to executive director of ticket operations, and named Dennis Moore executive director of premier seating.

Pioneers off the pace in Sun Belt golf

The University of Denver golf teams finished the first round in the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Monday at the PGA Village at Port St. Lucie, Fla. The women's team shot 25-over par for a fifth-place finish, while the men finished in eighth place with a 13-over-par 301.

Senior James Love led the Pioneers, shooting a 1-under 71, putting him in a six-way tie for seventh place. Jessica Yam led the women, finishing in a five-way tie for third with a 2-over 74.
