He had great penetration on that play (Among others) and he dove to make the tackle...

It's not like he got out of the way, Stu Schweigert style...
 
If someone is a puss on that play it's scrabble.
Gave a feeble little two-hand-touch wave at LJ instead of trying to tackle him.
Looked like Deion.
Let LJ gain an extra 20 yds all the way down to the 30.
Pitiful.

Brayton on that play?
He didn't make the tackle, but I'm not seeing it as anything egregious, I dunno.

Braytard got freakin' worked on that play... Completely out of position.... left the entire middle of the field wide ass open. So much for contain...

Perfect example of when the DLine (specifically Braytard) gets blown out, thangs like gap control and doing your job become impossible. Really the only time that whole game that a DLineman was that far out of position.

Let's fire RR... his scheme was way too vanilla for the mighty Braytard on that play. :rolleyes:
 
Brayton, Stu, and any LB not in the law offices of Morrison and Howard need to go.
 
BTW, I thought Michael Huff had another excellent day against another HOF TE. Ho-hum.

If he keeps having games like that, I'll eat Crow by the spoonful on his way to the Pro Bowl.
 
I'd still like to see us move him around more (play some FS, send him on blitzes, drop into the slot, etc) I think that would allow him to make a few explosion plays....

I can't recall another DL that has such a non-impact on a game as Brayton. You very rarely hear his number called and I can't even remember the last time he sniffed the opposing QB.
Tommie Kelly and Sapp had pretty decent games but we need to see that on a more consistent basis.

I don't blame that on Brayton....what I do see is over pursuit by Huff, then by Howard (who was blocked in the back I might add) a missed tackle by Stuey and then a really half assed attempt by Stanford Routt who fuckin stops running only to have LJ pickup 10 more because he thought Scrabble would get him who made an attempt to swipe at the ball rather than tackle him, a mistake by scrabble. Our SS or LB's should of been where LJ cutback.

Watch Scrabble again. He wasn't trying to hit him, but knock the ball loose. Granted, I'd rather have him wrap the guy up right there, but it wasn't a pussy hit as implied.

But it is an example of the over aggressive gambling thats cost on defense. I wish Woodson coulda taught him how to make a tackle and strip attempt at the same time. There was no better corner at that. Either way be aggressive, but make tackling the higher priority on plays like that.

If he wanted to try to knock the ball out why not put a firm shoulder into it?

Oh well, whatever it was he was trying to do it looked gay as hell.

Pretty sure Chef fan pissed his pants laffing at it.
