Broncos place Brandon on IR
By Associated Press
November 7, 2006

Safety Sam Brandon was placed on injured reserve Tuesday by the Denver Broncos, who didn’t immediately fill his spot on the roster.

Brandon tore his right anterior cruciate ligament Sunday at Pittsburgh while tackling running back Najeh Davenport.

Brandon, who covered tight ends as the "big nickel" back, finished the season with 15 tackles, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery. He also had three special teams tackles.

The fifth-year player has played in 63 games for the Broncos, including 12 starts, since his selection out of Nevada-Las Vegas in the fourth round of the 2002 draft.

Aha Bones...she'll come by in about 9 months and tell you!! :p

Hah shush angel.

I cringed during that play...Another player on our team rolling over onto a knee is what ended TD's career...And now Brandon's career, after having such a good start...

Of course, Javon walker is proof that a player can come back just as good, if not better, than expected after surgery...Hopefully he'll be able to keep Brandon up to speed with how he stayed in shape for returning so quickly.

(yes I'm trying to be optimistic!)

Woohoo...another BD sighting!!! :p Yeah, I hear ya...I hate seeing any player injured during a game regardless of who they are or who they play for...Hopefully Brandon will be able to come back and play next year.
