Bon-Anchovy wants to buy the Raiders???

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/bon jovi has heart set on nfl team_1013611

Rocker JON BON JOVI has his heart set on owning a team in America's National Football League (NFL) - and he already has his eye on the Oakland Raiders. The HAVE A NICE DAY star is a co-owner of the Philadelphia Soul team which competes in the less prestigious Arena Football League (AFL), but he would love to upgrade to the Californian team. He says, "I want to buy the Raiders. To own an NFL team: that's the dream

What? Kevin Federline wasn't able to read the "4 Sale cheep" sign we had up?...

I don't mind change in ownership, but come on! Jon Bon Jovi could pass as a broad half the time...

Come on HB....can't you see the ripped jean jacket with the Raider patch being the hot seller? Or the black spandex pants?:p

he's always been a huge fan of the nfl, and the raiders in particular. i'm totally up for new blood but i don't think AD would ever relinquish his beloved team to a rock star. he'll end up handing the reigns over to his son and probably trask and shell in the front office.

didn't a group make an offer last year that included Steve Young and Brent Jones? apparently the whole 9'er connection didn't sit too well either.

This team needs an infusion of some dot com money and a new stadium deal. I know Larry (Nervous Pervis) Ellison's name has been tossed around. I'm wondering now with the Whiners move to Santa Clara if the city would be more amenable to a stadium deal.

He just bought the rights to the coliseum (Warriors). The Warriors will now be playing at "The Oracle."

Great call Turk. A new owner with some serious bank needs to come in here and do some major upgrading. A guy like Cuban that just bleeds silver who would spare to no expense to build the best team possible would be sweet. There's no salary cap on coaches so here's how it goes: Note to the NFL: Oakland will triple the salary of the next offensive coordinator of their choice - and a 10-million dollar incentive to the entire staff for getting them to the playoffs. Raise your hand if you're interested...

I used to like the Oakland Alemeda County Collisium with all of it's nasty amenities, foggy field, tight confines, and generally dirty, unpleasant atmosphere. It was fitting for the team, plus we kicked ass there. But anymore it comes accross as just an old, outdated, dilapidated stadium. Probably because we have been horrible for the past 4 years, but still the raider mistique seems to have left the building. Said new owner could finance (with some help from the city of Oakland) one of the sweetest venues around. I'm down with that.

Unfortunetly it's going to be handed to Mike Davis and Amy Trask...you can bank on that. Although maybe Jr. will be a little more open minded then his pops.

Since a few here are known to sport that look ::coughnipscough::, it may be appealing to some... but if we're going to go that route, the obvious choice is Ice Cube man... Huge Raider fan and someone who did more to sell Raider gear in the 90's than anything the team did...

In fact, when we was coming up in Compton, in between banging holes and writing songs, me, Cube, Dre, Eazy, Ren and Yella used to talk about this all the time yo...

Although I don't want Bon Jovi as a team owner and I don't think that his music has withstood the test of time at all, I'll still stick up for Jon. Three days before the start of my senior year at Ramstein AFB, Germany, two Italian jets crashed into each other at the "Flugtag" Air Show on base. A lot of people died. So many, in fact, that they turned the base gym into a temporary morgue. Bon Jovi happened to be touring Europe at the time. They (along with Lita Ford) contacted the base (as opposed to vice versa) and volunteered to put on a benefit concert. For some kind of tax reason, they couldn't headline the gig, so they had Lita as the headliner for the show and they came out later and played 4 tunes. Tickets were like 15 bucks. At the end of the 4th song, Jon said "We're sorry that we couldn't rock and roll for you more tonight, but anybody with a ticket stub from tonight's show gets in tomorrow night in Frankfurt for free."

I don't have any Bon Jovi CDs... but I appreciate the hell out of the guy.

I made an oops and typed Mike Davis (Raider Safety) instead of Mark Davis. Actually Mark has been more involved with the Raiders as of late. Actually has been to the facility quite a bit this year during 2006. He was never really interested in years past as I believe the guy was involved with his education to become a lawyer with an accounting background. I think Mark would be at the top of the chain, Mike L would become solo GM with Trask being the adminstrator type and make business calls regarding revenue with the team...JMO

While the details are not known, Al Davis has said the Raiders will remain in the family. He has a son, Mark, who has been more visable in recent years. Amy Trask will be involved in the business side. If the Raiders turn things around, Art Shell could run the football side.
-- Jerry McDonald, ANG Newspapers

Raiders owner Al Davis has a succession plan firmly in place. Raiders CEO Amy Trask was not specific, but it's believed in team circles that Davis would bequeath his stake in the Raiders either to his wife, Carol, or his son, Mark, who is becoming a daily fixture at the team's Alameda facility. Al Davis did not attend the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, which set tongues wagging farther. He also did not attend the team's minicamp the week after the NFL Draft. -- San Francisco Chronicle

Any chance that Al could adopt Scott Pioli in the next year?... His current son has a reputation of being kind of a dufus....

Who are we kidding. I don't think anybody in Davis' immediate family has any attachment to the Raiders. As soon as either gets control, this thing will be sold to the highest bidder (presumably Ellison)... Can't wait! :D

My personal opinion of this would be nothing but positive........
HE is still Alive
(which anymore I not sure that Al is) I hate to say it but Al looks more like the Crypt Keeper everytime I see him.

It seems like at least with the Philly Soul he wouldn't get involved with the day to day of the team.

As long as someone that buys the team wants the team to win and puts in the money and passion (which if you ask my wife he has, she loves him-that slut!) into the job and doesn't make a embarassment out of the team (which I feel like lately is being done)

I love the Raiders - Al was a Great man, but all great men have to move on for others to take over eventually!!!
Sorry Al Love ya but you don't have to die, you just can't stay here.......
