Belated welcome to the team Antonio Pierce

That's a really sad list of hired interim HCs... Jason Garrett the best of the bunch.

It seems more often that not it's the person least disruptive to operations rather than the actual best candidate in the building. Both Bradley and Graham were more logical choices than Bisquick and AP, it's just that, at that point in time, their units were kinda, sorta, on a Raider curve doing ok.

Pierce had to cut Peters. Pierce's whole selling point is how hard the players play for him. Peters' lackadaisical efforts sabotage that theme.

That's how he's played everywhere though including in Baltimore and on a Super Bowl team in LA. I don't think it means anything. He got cut because he was washed and terrible.

We did get the one pick six I was hoping for. In Josh's last game on top of everything.

In Bradley's case, no. We saw him be an HC for like 50 games. He was DA bad.

I like the way he played it with Peters. Clearly the issue had been addressed behind the scenes and Peters was given the opportunity to improve. Once he didn't respond, appropriate measures were taken. Good leadership.

They also went out and got a replacement for him to soften the blow. Because even though he was terrible, you still need an NFL caliber body there at the end of the day if you cut him.

He's about on par with Tepper. Both went through 2 HCs in their first 5 years but Mark with quite a bit more scandal and off the field issues. His only saving grace is that most owners seem to be idiots.

He sounds just like Snyder to me. Just a more personable version, but the same complaints are coming from inside the building about a hostile work environment that they say he helps to perpetuate, terrible football product, meddling while acting like he doesn't, etc., etc. The players and people adjacent to the team love him though just like Snyder. Tepper is just a maniacal asshole who doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. I haven't heard any of the shit that was going on in Washington and that Mark's Raiders have been accused of going on with his franchise. That's why it seems like a hopeless situation because it's deeper than just on the field. It's like a rotted workplace culture.

It seems as though the complaints come and MD addresses it. There might have been a hostile environment in the past with the group that seemed to be messing around with financials. They gone. Then there is the president that is shitcanned after some shady shit is reported (or he was theatened to report). Funny how he made those accusations but nothing ever came of it. Granted I'm not an "insider". I'm just a guy who can do an internet search. Quite interesting what one can find online. I'm also a fan of links. Links always help....

But do other teams have all of that shit going on? No, they don't. The only other one is the Snyder Redskins.

Like why would anyone in a football team think it was okay to cook the books in the first place unless shit like that goes on, and it wasn't a person or two, it was a bunch of people. Maybe he's just a goober where people do whatever they want and that makes it a terrible place to work, but that's just as bad as his evil twin who was egging shit like that on in Washington such as hiding money they were supposed to share from the other owners.

It seems the accounting irregularities came up when Mark bought that WNBA team. They likely told him it wasn't a good idea.

Except Josh didn’t cut him and it was the same crappy effort. I’m enjoying AP. I have no real criticism of him given what he walked into.
Not saying brilliant work or game management but likable guy rebuilding an offensive playbook for a rookie QB.
I hope we win out and he earns the job.
Him and AO'C.

Let’s see what a 2 week break does for us…

Good leadership plans ahead, not reacting in the moment.
Sell the team!

Good reason to go in another direction.
But Hondo says the players will revolt if Pierce isn't retained...

“If things continue the way they are and Mark Davis doesn’t hire [Antonio Pierce], he’s going to have a mutiny,” Sports Illustrated’s Hondo Carpenter said this week on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.

Obviously, the players don’t have control over the team, but some have control over themselves.

Josh Jacobs is a free agent after the season and while Davante Adams is under contract for three more years, he will have enough leverage to force the Raiders to trade him (more on that in a few weeks).

An ESPN report last week practically laid out the groundwork for his departure.

However the Raiders coaching situation plays out, it’s going to be something to watch. “Mutiny” is a strong word, but there’s no question that things could get interesting if Pierce is shown the door at the end of the season.
