Cousins by far. Mayfield didn't really have a banner year, it's mostly in line with the highs of his previous years. Some team may be desperate enough to go the Daniel Jones route on his deal, but I'd expect Geno/Tannehill money.

Real money that is, I don't care about fluff bullshit.
Agents love the fluff, though. Makes for great headlines.

Yet neither are good enough to even hope to win the AFC West let alone anything else.
k but that wasn’t your statement. Also, depends on what squad we put together how much we can compete. If we can run the ball and Play D Cousins could do damage.

Cousins is a totally different story than either fat Russ or Baker Baker… my statement was that I would just as soon roll with AO’C than either Wilson or Baker as I don’t think you can compete at any meaningful level with them so might as well roll with a cheaper alternative while drafting a QB that can at least give hope of higher upside for the future. No sense in wasting snaps on a mid level vet at this point when they would be better spent on developing both AO’C (as likely and hopefully the backup the next few years) and someone like Penix, Nix, or McCarthy (since CWill, Maye, and Daniels seem to be a long shot at best).

Fat Russ could do damage too I think given the right situation. He’s not for us though, just not a Raider.

Would you send our 1st round pick to NY for Aaron?

Jets would have some serious ammo to move up into the top 3 if they wanted to at that point. And we get a wishy washy QB who could actually take us to the SB next year.

No way. Maybe last year when it was being rumored, but not now as a 40+ year old coming off an achilles.

I get preferring to roll with AO’C rather than signing a decently priced FA QB but him being better than anyone isn’t the logic. I’m ok with him taking the lumps on a rookie deal while a rookie develops, I don’t see the upside of paying middling QBs. That said, I have a hard time envisioning a scenario where a rookie of any pedigree doesn’t beat him out but that’s a different conversation.

Cousins is the best vet option . . . . And the most expensive. He might lead the team to the playoffs.

Baker is a waste of money. He won’t repeat what he did last year in the AFC West.

Wilson’s done. Stick a fork in him.
