It's a good thing we got Bush in. I always loved Jordans attitude until I read this that I shamelessly clipped from another board, but I never really cared for Lamonts running style, It looks like the dude has a cinder black tied to one ankle when he tries to hit a hole... he side steps and cost us, shit, I'd quess about at least 100 negative yards he alone cost us....

I remember doing drills in pop warner football during tryouts and remember our coach telling us that the key to being a successful RB is determined by how quickly you break the line of scrimmage. And he was 100% correct, everytime I see Lamont run I can still see my coach telling us that through my facemask.

This is a positive and a negative article.

If Lamonts got a problem... I say we dump his ass for a 4th rd.

Fargas, Griffith & Bush can handle the 1st 4 games until Rhodes comes back..

Anyways here's the clip..

I just read an interesting article about RB coach Tom Rathman confronting Lamont Jordan during OTA's... "According to insiders, Rathman walked into the locker room prior to one of the team's offseason workouts and found Jordan among the few players remaining. Rathman approached Jordan and questioned why he wasn't on the field. Jordan cited equipment problems but Rathman was unconvinced and grabed Jordan by the jersey and walked him out to practice. For the next several days, insiders said Rathman was at Jordan's locker 15 minutes prior to practice and didn't leave until Jordan was ready". Jordan has a bad attitude and is unhappy about the pay cut he had to take this season to remain on the team. Jordan also says at the end of the article, "For me I'm not concerned with how we look as a team. I'm going to worry more about myself as an individual".

TIFWIW

That's a little surprising. As far as getting a 4th for him, dream on my man. Since becoming the featured back for us, he hasn't exactly blown up the league. You do have to credit him for running behind arguably the worst OLine in the league the last few years, but he doesn't seem to have the burst he had when rotating in with the jets. If anything he's just got gimpy, worn down, and lost a step.

If this is LJ's attude, cut him now!! The negative impact far outweights any benefit to having him on the feild, which is a SMALL benefit at best. We'd be lucky to fetch a 7th for him. Just cut the ties and move on, there are other guys who give a shit.

I think Jordon's days are numbered not only because of his attitude but I think Rhodes , Bush and FARGAS are better backs than he is. I think last year helped Fargas moved up the depth chart past Jordon.

This will be the year Huggy Bear make his contribution.

Oh ya Fuck Jordon!

I don't know what his beef is. We still made him a lucrative offer two years ago and he was asked to re-structure like everyone else on the team. He's still making more than he deserves and sucked ass equally as much as anyone on that offense last year. (See 49er game last season).

There's no doubt this is his last season, even if he makes it that long. Unfortunately his trade value is virtually nil.

If we cut or trade Jordan this year, we would save his salary of $1 million. If he is on our team next year, he will carry a $6.1 million salary cap figure (I believe there is a roster bonus or other remaining in his contract but that doesn't matter now). If we cut him this year, we will carry $2.8 million on the books for him.....approximations.

So why the wait cut his ass now? Free up the roster spot and keep Crockett for short yardage situations and just to shut Gay's mouth up for awhile.

I am not saying that we should or shouldn't trade him...just offering more data for the discussion.

i think he's here at least for the 4 games that rhodes is suspended...

But Fargas and Bush need to show me something in preseason before I'm ready to go Jordanless.

For me, I am going to wait for more information. He already pocketed $10 in bonuses in addition to his salaries. That is a lot of money to throw away without seeing what his attitude will be like in training camp and the preseason games.

That is a very good point and maybe Rathman can whip him into what he was billed to be. His first year was good, but since then its all been crap. Not all his fault but still smells the same

We should have known when he said his favorite singer was Mariah Carey that he was going to be soft.

From an article I posted on another thread...from Lamont Jordan...

“I’m just excited to put the pads on again, get out here and play football,” said running back LaMont Jordan. “I know that this year we’re going to be a better team, especially offensively. I’m coming out there to carry the load and go out there and to lead my team. I think this camp is big for all of us offensively. We were horrible on the offensive side of the ball last year. It’s very important that we come out, that we learn the system, that we understand the system, and that we go out there and we perform a lot better this camp than we did the last camp.”

See, Rathman has already had an effect on him.

Sounds more like the same rhetoric he has been giving us for the last couple of seasons to me.

Wake me when he walks the walk.

My thoughts exactly!

Well, whether or not he produces on the field, I don't know but at least his attitude has gone from "all about me" to "we" if we assume the original article to be correct.

Maybe he'd like to go back to the jets, they have at least one RB roster spot available now.

He is an east coast guy and I don't know that he would have come out here had his coach with the Jets not been with us. Right now we already paid him big money, and his attitude seems to be good so I am going to give him a chance like everyone else on our underachieving offense. If he is ineffective, then we can sit him down and go with the other players. We won't be losing another running back of quality because Jordan takes his roster spot.
