We might want to start working on a new deal huh?

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha's contract with the team, though runs through the 2008 season, can be voided at his request after the 2007 season if he meets a playing time minimum. Asomugha is scheduled to earn $730,000 in 2007 and $820,000 in 2008.

Funny. Losing Charles Woodson has resulted in a net gain, but losing Nnamdi Asomugha would be a serious blow. That really must stick in the craw of the CWOOD worshipers.

Re-up Asomugah, like yesterday.

Heh...

I started playing 2k5 for PS2 again, updating players.

I upped Nnam's rating from like a 73, I think, which it is originally on the game (going into the 2004 season, yikes, it's old) to a 93 or so.

Was running through my payroll and saw his and just thought, "Have we restructured him?"

Git 'er done.

who worshiped woodson? What raider fan gets a craw stuck in him out of the players stepping up after losing CWood and needing to be resigned? Craw would be if he bolted for San Diego. I'm happy that we moved to address the imminent departure by getting a SS with play making potential in the draft. Happy our defense gave us the leverage to play man for the first time since the gannon years which served players like Aso and Fabian very well much like it served woodson well when we were able to then.

I hope Aso doesnt get the big head with his new found success, it would be best to get an extension set asap.

Bwahahahaha

Bolted to SD? I presume you mean the same San Diego Chargers that had every opportunity to sign him and didn't. The Kansas City Chefs could have signed him and didn't. The Denver Donkos could have signed him and didn't.

Get the picture.

I can already tell that you were probably a stauch CWOOD apologist when he was here. The tone of your post says it all in technicolor. What kills you is that those that said "Charles Woodson is overatted" were right all along. That is what I mean by Craw. Dig?

Back to a player that actually matters, Nmandi Asomugha. There is nothing that I've seen from his work ethic, as evidenced by his continous improvement (unlike Woodson who regressed his whole career after a great 3 year start), his attitude and obvious intelligence. I think he's the real deal, not to mention a breath of fresh air from an attitude standpoint.

Nmandi Asomugha - I was right about all along BTW.

i can tell you're a prick when you have a vendetta against someone. 16 games, 8 int's, 12 passes defensed, and 59 tackles doesnt seem all that regressed. But in that scheme they let him play man defense. the only point i made is that he a great cover guy but typically stats dont show up when your team has no pass rush and your forced to play zones every down. same seemed to be true for Aso(more man this year=better stats), who claimed to learn alot of his game from captain overrated.

Dude go spend your time trying to peg someone else. I mean it would be nice if you were on point in your prejudging attempts, then i wouldnt be losing respect with every arrogant post you make on this subject.

I just got done saying i'm happy for Aso, yet somehow you read something else. I say the only thing that would be a craw worthy stick in the side is if he(Aso) bolted and i get a ridiculous "ya' dig" reply like i was talking about woodson. you're so fucking obsessed you lose track of who i'm talking about.

i'm not the one who started getting off into woodson derails, so wtf? you might want to seek counseling about this. Either way good luck with your fictional world where people worship woodson, and where anyone who doesnt hate him is a terrorist Woodson loving apologist worthy of your most pathetic flame attempt. :p

If I were dealing with Asomugha I would give him a not inconsequential roster bonus for the 2007 season as a reward for a good season and obvious hard work in improving, what was in 2005, very suspect physical style in his game.

I would then add a large roster bonus for the 2008 season, as a spring board for him to negotiate a great long term contract with the Raiders. It would also allow the Raiders to gauge his suitability for such a contract.

There have been a few flash-in-the-pan CB's in the NFL That dufus from Denver (went to Cinnci) and never repeated his success is one that comes to mind. I will say that Asomugha is a big physical cornerback and when that type of player can perform they seldom "lose it" quickly like the more "frail" CB's do.

Hopefully something can be done to keep him in the Silverand Black as he seems to be a complete player.

We might as well just wait to see what Asante Samuel and Nate Clements get in March. That will give us a baseline to put together Aso's extension.

Well no CB is worth what some of the higher ups are getting imo.

I think Aso is in a good spot, especially if we get another pass rusher this coming season. It would be in our best interest to get a deal done immediately rather than wait on the inflated CB market to inflate more. if thats an option. he may not want to talk to talk contracts until the end of this coming season.

Oh we're going to underscore a typo on my part? Have you seen the gramatically incorrect tripe that you post on a regular basis?

Prick? Oh that hurts.

"Does this mean we're not freinds? I don't know if I could bear it"

Wasn't meant as an insult, just observation. its over, get over it rather than act more an ass over nothing.;)

You may not like my opinion or my approach, but you are the one that has dropped "prick" and "ass" into the dialogue. That's my final observation. I'll see your ;) raise you a double ;) ;)

I love Charles Woodson, and my good buddy is a huge Packers fan...

So I will say I watched my share of GBay games this year and my point is:

Woodson had a great stat line this season, but Al Harris was the stronger CB on that team, without a doubt. Woodson had a few games where he was picked on pretty hard, and although he did have a good season, he wasnt a Pro Bowl caliber player this year, IMO.

Nnamdii was much better.

From the games I watched, anyways.

I'd rather have Fabs or Aso straight up over C-Wood. It's even better that we'll score a mid round pick for him too...

007 - Get over to the latest Andrew Walter thread, would ya? There is another skirmish developing about the QB position.
