Am I the only one who thinks Brooks may be a good idea?

Don't get me wrong... I like Walter, a lot. But my whole thing over these past few seasons has been finding out all we can about a guy, particularly at quarterback. That's why I called for Kerry to be benched even when Tui was the only young backup.

I don't think we've learned all we can about Walter per se... but would anyone else agree with me that it's likely we've learned all we can about him in THIS offense with THIS supporting cast and THIS line and THIS coaching?

I mean really. Do any of you expect any radical changes from week to week anymore? We've pretty much had the same thing over and over.

Yeah, there are some things he can still improve within his own game regardless of support, like that overthrow to Whitted in the end zone the other day or holding on to the ball too long here or there. Sure. But would it really matter a whole lot?

Brooks, we haven't even really seen. He got destroyed in the opener against a juiced up team on a baseball diamond. And then he was part of some muffed exchanges. And obviously we've seen that Walter isn't immune from being involved in some fumbled exchanges himself.

Like I said... I like Walter, and I would GUESS he's our guy of the future IF we have one on this club as constituted... but I guess what I'm saying is that I don't really care at this point.

If you remember the movie War Games, near the end a general goes, "Hell, I'd piss on a spark plug if it would do any good!"

I think I've seen enough of Walter with this group. I don't really think we're gonna learn a whole lot more here. The kid's just gonna get more and more battered and destroyed.

Brooks has more mobility, for starters. Who knows? Maybe there's a chance he could have more of a rapport with the receivers? Yes? No? Maybe so? Worth a shot? :(

I dunno man... Nips said something similar in another thread, and uhh.... I just don't get it.

I guess I gotta ask, did you guys not see what happened when the guy started the first time around

Maybe it's time for Walter to start calling the plays, sounds like he has a better grasp of things than our O.C...

Oh great...now you're really gonna piss Art off. He reads this forum ya know. Bad Turo.

Hey, I'm just sayin' is all. The whole thing about 'those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it' thing.

;)

Walter's numbers are a lot better?

Sure, at the time I was like, "Fuck an interception--Brooks can't even get the snap off!" but if you're real about it you have to admit we were looking at a sample size that pales in comparison to Walter's.

I just think with this team situated as is we know all we're going to know about Walter. That's not an indictment of him necessarily.

If Brooks does even worse over a few games when he'd have thrown more than 14 balls, I think I'd actually learn more about Walter than if he just stayed in there himself. Know what I'm sayin'?

does art really read this forum?

thing is we dont know what walter can do with a competant play caller... since that doesnt look to be changing you might have a point that getting brooks killed is better then getting walter killed.

Give Brooks another shot see if he can spark something or use his feet a bit to create, if he fails...Finish the last 4-6 with Walter.

That's what I'd do, personally.

I'm not fellin' this at all.

Plunk...please give Art a shout about this: [email protected] :D

i dont have Art's back anymore. not every player is jerry porter and benching anyone who dares have enough pride in winning to point out whats holding them back from winning is low class. JMO, but Art has lost me.

and for the record i hope aaron brooks does well. but deep down inside theres a part of me that fears that and anything else that works in tom walsh's favor.

Likely? They haven't even practiced this week. So any speculation at this point is just a guess based on Art's demeanor at the press conference.
