NFL | A. Peterson still unsure about NFL Draft
Fri, 12 Jan 2007 13:24:22 -0800

CNNSI.com reports Oklahoma RB Adrian Peterson is unsure whether he will declare for the 2007 NFL Draft or return to Oklahoma for his senior season. "I have spent the last few days considering my options...The facts are that I have not hired any representation and I have not declared for the draft," Peterson said in a statement released Thursday, Jan. 11, by Oklahoma. The deadline for juniors to enter the draft is Monday, Jan. 15.

Ok, my dream scenario. He stays. But then sometime around May he does something fairly stupid that doesn't involve drugs or alcohol that gets him kicked out of school and we pick him up in the supplemental draft.

Let's see if we can start a rumor....

According to a source close to www.bonesisasmellyoldman.com, there is speculation that Peterson is gauging whether the Oakland Raiders, who own the top pick, would draft him. If so, despite more than $26 million in guarantees, Peterson likely would return to college.

I think he'd be wise to come out. How much more will he improve his draft stock, especially if Darren McFadden declares? Not to mention risking injury when you're guaranteed millions in the five figures. I really don't think he's our guy anyway after JRUss posts his sick combine numbers.:D

He's coming out. I don't know what all this drama queen shit is with this guy.

Hey Adrian...what's gonna happen to your $26 Million if you blow out yer knee. Duh!

If he doesnt come out, this draft is WEAK at runningback. (Already is)

Lynch and then....Nobody without question marks.

Bush: Injuries
Irons: Size/Strength/Bulk
Hunt: Speed/Vision is questionable.
Gary Russell: Attitude
Lorenzo Booker: Underachiever, size and bulk.

I hate this RB class, personally.

I think Ohio States Antonio Pittman is gonna be a good solid back in the NFL

Will be there at our 3rd pick.. Word is he has sent in his request to the advisory board on where he is projected, and there is reports he is strongly considering the NFL and will likely forgo his senior year

He is looking to be a first rd pick, now they mnay say he has a shot, and he will enter but he will drop to the 3rd rd...

Jamarcus Russel - QB
Zach Miller - TE
Antonio Pittman - RB

And lets just go ahead and dump Rashard Lee once and for all and carry Jordan, Fargas and Pittman

He'd be a great 3rd down back

1233 yards and 14 TD's

Why dump Reshard Lee? He plays special teams and is a decent b/u at RB in my opinion. This o-line is shit and on limited carries, he looked pretty solid.

If we draft a Day-1 RB, I'd say the odd man out is Jordan based on salary.

you answered the question right after you asked it.:p Our special team was garbage. all kidding aside, i dont mind keeping him. but i dont losing him either. not a make or break move with him IMO.

I thought Lee was one of the brighter spots on the Raider offense but that's not saying a helluva lot.

Lee is a good story.....I like some stuff he did last year but on the average he was below the average NFL level.......

Fargas now that is a back up:rolleyes:

He needs to put more then one decent year together!!!
I like him but he has to prove to me he can stay healthy, plain and simple

As much as I'd like to see him here, I would stay in school another year if I were him. I know I've mentioned this a few times, but RBs are typically going to make the best money in their rookie contract and possibly their second contract. Right now Peterson is looking like a 4 - 7 pick, which is a huge drop off in guaranteed money from being a top 1-2 pick.

If Peterson is as good as I think he is and as good as he thinks he is, then all he needs to do is stay healthy for his senior year. He runs away with the Heisman, puts up a 2000 yard season, and puts an additional 10-15 million more in his pocket by being the top pick next year.

Look, I'm not saying Lee is a great player, but given his versatility & low price tag, I think I'd much rather dump LaMont Jordan.

That's if we either sign a starting caliber RB or draft one on the first day.

Again, I think we could have Fargas & Lee at the cost of 1 LaMont Jordan. No brainer IMO.

Yeah people have seemed to forget his 1925 rushing yards as a freshman. I think he (when healthy) is better than McFadden. Besides just becasue there are alot of good college RB's next season doesnt mean they are all entering the draft.

Please, Petersen ain't falling to the 4-7 range. He's a top 3 pick. This is a ton of money. He'll declare. Much ado about Nada.

You must be crazy your ready to give up on Jordon? This guy can play and will prove that if we have some people that can block and some offensive coaches that know WTF they are doing......Even if we draft a Top 10 back we keep jordon and dump one of the other two......I bet you want to give Porter another chance right....
I also liked C-Wood until he keep the big pay days and was hurt to much.

If the Bucs win the coin flip for #3, it doesn't seem likely Peterson goes in the top 3.

1. Raiders (Russell)
2. Lions (Quinn)
3. Bucs (Johnson)
4. Browns (Peterson)
