Broncos stand pat after playoff run
By ALLEN WILSON

This is the fourth of eight stories examining NFL teams by division as they prepare for training camp. Today's installment focuses on the AFC West.
After winning their first playoff game since the John Elway era and reaching the AFC Championship game after a seven-year absence, the Super Bowl is on the minds of the Denver Broncos and their orange-clad faithful.
But winning the division comes first, and that won't be easy. Except for one big signing, wide receiver Javon Walker, the Broncos haven't done much this offseason. Coach Mike Shanahan apparently thinks the team has enough talent to get the job done.
Kansas City can score on anyone, but new coach Herman Edwards needs a better defense for the Chiefs to challenge for the division title.
San Diego was the best team not to make the playoffs last season. New starting quarterback Philip Rivers holds the key to the Chargers reaching the postseason in 2006.
The Oakland Raiders are 1-11 in the division the last two seasons. Owner Al Davis hopes Art Shell's second stint as head coach will bring direction to a franchise that has lost its way.
