Try to stimulate some discussion here...
1: Who leads the Oakland Raiders in rushing this year?
The more I think of it, the more I realize how murky the situation is...Fargas? LJ? Rhodes? An up and coming Michael Bush?
My prediction: Lamont Jordan. I doubt he breaks 1000 yards in rushing, (The whole RBBC thing) but I say he does enough to hold off the other guys...
2: Who leads the Raiders in passing yards this year?
Another weird one I was thinking about. If we struggle early it could be Russell. It could be McCown. Maybe Walter?
I'll go with Josh McCown and his 12 starts...
3: Who's your suprise player to make the roster? Suprise cut?
Last year you had Kevin Huntley and Robert Thomas emerge, and then Danny Clark getting cut out of nowhere.
Guys like Tommy Kelly, Kevin Boothe, Terdell Sands, Ronald Curry, Chris Carr and Barry Sims have risen out of nowhere to start for us or be contributors in the past.
My suprise guy: Marquice Cole at CB. He's got the wheels and the size to make it. Was a preseason Thorpe hopeful last year. Named to the all big ten team. 3.5 year starter...
Im gonna wager a guess to say he might contribute earlier than Bowie...
On the flipside I see a guy like Courtney Anderson getting cut by the new regime. Adkisson and Madsen might bring a dynamic 'seam splitting' type of game, Stewart and Wakefield can block and Anderson is mediocre at all of it...
He's gone, IMO. I also think Crockett is outta here. I love the guy, but he makes too much money as a backup RB/FB.
4: Do we finally win a division game? If so, against who?
I'm going to go with the declining Chiefs at home in week 7.
5: Who starts opposite of Derrrick Burgess?
My guess is Kevin Huntley until week 5. Then Quintin Moses for rest of the year.
Last little note:
The average age according to Raiders.com of our 35 biggest contributors (I just went through the roster and picked guys I think will play big minutes) is about 26.5. We actually got about a year and a half younger this season with ammount of draft picks we had and players who might contribute.
Including such gems as Zach Miller (21) Russell (21) Huff (24) Washington (24) Morrison (25) Howard (23) Asomugha (25) Kelly (26) Moses (23) Burgess (28) and Sands (27)
There will essentially be only 3 major contributors over the age of 30. Sapp, Sims and Newberry. That is something any fan can love...
