25-26 Dubs quest for 5: The NBA thread

No AD, I'm good with that.

Yah for what it would cost to sign him and draft picks, just not worth it. Plus he's always hurt. KP averaged nearly 16ppg last season for Dubs when he was healthy. That Butler deal was terrible. He is probably going to miss half of next season anyway and Dubs on the hook for $50mm plus.

Jimmy Butler is just an albatross at this point though. I'd love to move off his contract.

My understanding is the expiring nature of it makes it a tradeable asset, is that right?

If there is a team with an expensive player they want to move. It's useful in a trade for a Giannis or something like that but we have to take back the same salary we send out unless we're trading him to a team with the cap space to absorb the contract, in which case they'd be asking for compensation for taking him. It's always nice to have a big salary that's expiring because they are necessary to make big moves, but if there is no big move to make then he's just sucking up cap.

Seems like a lot for a guy who averages 14ppg. Porzingas deal looking like a bargain at this point.

Dubs resigning Melton to a 2 year $11m deal. Didn't think he was coming back. Good role player and spot starter.

Boston just gave away Jaylen Brown. He's paid way too much for the type of player he is but he'd have been a perfect fit for our squad. He's basically a consistently good version of Wiggins.

Just saw a grade for Boston's side as a D+. 🤣

gonna get caught holding our dicks as usual

I read where his agent said if NY hadn't won the title, he was going there. He has much better options frankly and he is going to milk this out as long as he can, fucking drama queen. Dubs are just fugged right now with the cap situation. On the hook for Butler at $50mm. Have to pay Dray. No young stars. Hopefully this kid they drafted can play.

I heard that they finally get some cap relief next season but how long is Steph going to be able to play at a productive level. They should have started blowing this shit up a couple years ago.

Quentin Post to the Grizzlies. 3 yr/$30mm. That's a nice deal for him. Leaves Dubs with one true center.

One that is available 40% of the time.

In a good year. That contract makes him easily tradable as only $3mm of his salary is guaranteed for next season. Possible trade piece?

Getting the feeling that LJ is stringing Dubs along. I don't think he is coming to the Bay frankly. He has much better options. Wish Dubs would tell him they are withdrawing from consideration and moving on.
