25-26 Dubs quest for 5: The NBA thread

Weird signing. At face value it kinda handcuffs us from doing much else. I wonder if it ends up being part of a sign and trade?

I'm not sure I've seen someone's stock drop as quickly as his did.

I read it won't affect them going after Lebron and Dray is now officially a FA and opted out to help Dubs with some cap wiggle room although he is going to have to be paid as well.

Dubs have apparently soured on Quentin Post and don't plan on bringing him back so KP would be the only true center. He put up decent numbers when he played but the dude is made of balsa wood. I don't see how they can bring in AD and LJ and keep these other guys so he could be part of a trade scenario as you mentioned.

Latest rumors have Dubs also pursuing Anfernee Simmons from Boston as well. Melton declined his option and Dubs want someone who can score more points coming off the bench.

It doesn't affect other moves as long as guys like Dray and LeBron take deeper than expected discounts. Not impossible but I'd be surprised.

Maybe Yaxel would take Melton's spot in a rotation.

I think Maxel will be playing small forward opp. Draymond assuming they don't make any other moves. That's why Dubs are pursuing Simmons to come off the bench.

Right now the starting rotation is pretty sketchy.
