He most likely did have season ending surgery. We just don't know what the surgery was other than it was related to an ankle injury. I bet he had some screws and shit put in there...

Ya I’d imagine by the time it heals and you start to feel okay with it the season is over.
Most bones are 6-12 weeks. When I did a bit more digging it seems recovering from broken ankle takes much longer.
You would think something like that fucks up a joint or some ligaments as well.

It does. It fucking sucks. That was just to be able to put all your weight on it and get out of the boot. I did have a broken fibula and torn tendons at the same time though. I'm still not fully good yet.
