Anyone who has followed Drew Allar should not be surprised by Combine buzz.

His best trait has always been making it seem like he should be a very good QB.

His sophomore year ended and I didnt think there was any way that dude wasnt a 1overall type QB lol.

6-5 230 with an absolute lazer attached to his shoulder lol.

I'm too lazy to do this properly, but spot checking some of these arm lengths vs the Senior Bowl, and they're all shorter at the Combine, and some significantly so.

Iheneachor's is 5/8ths shorter

I'm not trying to be all Rueben Bain's agent through an insider, but a lot of these guys right at thresholds may actually be over them, for anyone that cares about such things.

Talked to a few former GM/scouts about Reuben Bain.

Asked if the arm length was an issue.

They all pointed me to the tape.

Long story short: it’s only an issue if you don’t love the tape.

None said it was a deal-breaker.

Lying about what is important, what isnt. Which number matters and doesnt. What agents say or what GMs are whispering.

This aint your first combine.

Fano and Bain were the second best guys at their positions on their college teams. The combine stuff and twitter doodles are just catching up.
 
I have a theory as to why all the average 40 times are faster than average.

Watch for news that the distance was measured short.

I’m curious how many teams still value that chart. If I’m a GM, to go from even 32 to 36, it has to be a third.

Yep. Like 20 fast guys are running now and 20 slow guys at each position are waiting till their pro day.

I didnt notice blazing OL times but I noticed there were none of those 6.0 Rich Eisen chubbers bumbling along.

I track trades every year. JJ is still remarkably close. When people get more, it normally is b/c of a QB. Perhaps the 5th year option deserves a premium. Just haven’t seen it. If a trade involves an AFC West team, I’ll report it.
