2025 Offseason Roster

The 26 class isn't bad, it just depends on a lot of underclassmen coming out.

Who? The list I saw had Manning, Aller, and Nico on top of it. Two of those guys aren't happening. I can't even think of anyone else they're putting as a first round talent right now. You pass this year, and you're going to end up with Carson Beck or Nussmeier's sorry ass, lol. Watch him being the son of a coach be a plus next year though despite him sucking every time I watch LSU, and for the record, that's one of the main reasons I'm high on Sanders. I think it's a big plus that he's Prime's son in understanding the game.

Nix played on a team with an elite defense. He was exposed in the playoff game. His ceiling is probably that of a game manager. We need to address the line or a guy like Sanders would get killed. If is last name wasn’t Sanders he probably wouldn’t be regarded as a first round QB. I don’t have anything against the guy, I just don’t think picking him makes any sense, especially with developmental guys with higher ceilings are to be had in later rounds.

You act like that's a bad thing. Looking for the unicorn Dan Marino prospect is why most teams never get a steady starter. I know I would have loved to be watching Nix instead of the shitty QBs we had last year. he avoided sacks, made plays, and threw for almost 30 TDs, lol. Sign me up.

I don’t know if works in many systems. Playing for Sean Payton was probably the best thing that could have happened to him. I very much doubt he has the success had we drafted him.

There are a lot of guys in the league who don’t even think Sanders is a first round talent, much less going to a team who just traded for an established starter who our HC backs 100%.
Sanders has the highest passing percentage not only this year of all time. Shedeur Sanders is the most accurate QB in the history of college football. If he's not a first round pick no one should be.

I find it funny that this is exactly the kind of QB this fan base wanted during the Al years and now that we might take him, they don't want him. They hated the rough boom or bust guys, which seems to be every argument against him that he's not that athletically or has something to do with not liking his dad. It's just kind of funny to me as a fan of this team and knowing our history.

“I’m not a college football insider, but none of the Mannings ever went out early, and I don’t know with NIL money being what it is why Arch would do that. So, all of this conversation about tanking for Arch next year, he could be in the draft in 2027, not even next year.”

That's most QBs though. Also, we're not starting him this year. That's what the Smith trade prevents if we do the right things to not let the season get away from us where you have to put him in because we're 1-10 or some shit. Ideally, I want him to sit a year. I even said that if we got Daniels a year ago, and he obviously didn't need it.

Nelson and Sellers.

And Arnold to an extent.

I've been making this point. Both his uncles played four years when there was no NIL money. No way is the family letting him be one and done in college and be set up for failure. He's currently 19 years old. I don't even know why this is a thing when you even stop and think about it. Btw, these are all the same reasons Deion said Shedeur wasn't coming out early, and people scoffed at it I guess because he's Deion.

I don’t think a QB at 6 makes any sense. We gave up draft capital to get Smith, who’s Carroll’s man, and gave him an extension. He’s starting this season, and probably next. We need a starting RB, WR1, a starting corner, a starting guard (maybe 2), a LB, and maybe a safety. I would love to trade back with the Steelers and get extra draft capital to fill our needs. There’s no doubt we’re looking at a developmental QB at some point. There are a lot of guys in the league who don’t even think Sanders is a first round talent, much less going to a team who just traded for an established starter who our HC backs 100%.
The draft capital was not the kind that keeps you from drafting someone. Smith is for sure Carroll's man but he's also 35. Even if he starts for 2 years that's ok. Brady has been pretty adamant he wants a young QB to learn before they start.
Alot of people are ignoring this
Not ignoring anything it just isn't somethin that should keep us from drafting a good prospect if given the chance.

That defense didn't have anything to do with how well he played, sorry but this is a stupid argument. He had a stellar rookie season and there's no reason to cap him as a game manager.

I've seen Sellars on the list, but he has along way to go to be in that conversation. Nelson is on his third team after not winning the job at Boise after not winning the job with the one guy who has put the #1 QB pick in the draft three times this decade, lol. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's not projected to be shit right now.

Arnold, also no way. He got run out of Oklahoma and hasn't lived up to his five star status.

See that Tweet Crow posted in the college thread about how all of those 2023 QBs are on their second team now except Manning because they've all been underwhelming.

So again, you're going to be talking up Drew Aller, Carson Beck, and Gus Nussneir a year from now if you pass.

He was 18th in passer rating. He was pretty much league average.

For a rookie, that's also very good. You also have to split his season in half because he sucked early and got way better the last two months. He was making plays down the stretch. I'm certainly not going to lie like I was a fan of him coming out because I couldn't unsee the Auburn years, but dude did his thing, and I think if the Chefs don't win this division this year, it's going to be to them with him at QB.

Completion percentage isn't a measure of accuracy.

Btw @Handicapper General, one of the schools that is considering Nico is UTEP where Nelson is. So I guess it's not going too well there either, lol. I don't think he'll be in the 2026 draft.

I don’t know. No Nix does not scare me at all.

I agree nothing we did should prevent a qb being drafted. By people ignoring that being Carroll’s hand picked qb, was meant more for the Brady's going to do the picking crowd. They've already shown that's not going to be the case. He'll have input for sure but he isn't going to solely make the pick
