2025 Offseason Roster

I don't see Sanders making it to us. If he does it should take 2 firsts for us to move. I think the saints would trade up, I'd like their first pick this year and next, but what I've heard is the first and second this season. That should give us room to get 3 starters in the first 2 rounds and then a QB in 3.

Lot of praying and wishing going on. Denial of the obvious. He's a TB-12 guy. He's going to get drafted by us if he's there. Also, one thing not talked about enough, how bad 2026 is for QBs without Manning in the class.
Can’t wait for the emphatic “Boy I was wrong about this” post you will be making ! May need to immortalize that one in 9 days time

If Brady is making the call my guess is he has already sold Spytek and Pete on him.

This is the thing. The QB owner is obviously going to be deferred to in picking QB. Nobody is going to question him in the building. The GM's his friend. The principal owner has already said he'll have a big voice in what we do. The only thing is that Brady doesn't want to come off like an asshole dictating shit and wants it to seem like everybody's decision because he hated that shit in New England. However, the result is the same. Couple it with Geno being one of his frequent comps as a pro, it's just obvious. The things Brady is all about from his commentary is "this guy plays the position the right way." Who in the hell else do you see in this draft he would say that about over Shedeur? Even his detractors have to say he's ideal in that regard since he limits turnovers and doesn't go off structure. Most of the questions come about Prime, something that won't be an issue because he trusts his boy with Brady, or that he's not Josh Allen athletically, also things I don't see being important to the former sixth round pick who reminded everybody even in year 25 that they passed on him because he ran slow at the combine.

If you want to know how decisions will be made, look at his time in Tampa. It was spun as what's best for the team, but everything they did in that window was Brady driven, from signing Antonio Brown who Arians said he hahd no interest in immediately after Brady signed to suddenly signing him, to changing the offense midseason that we all had seen from afar in Arian's different stops, to getting Gronk immediately after he got there despite them having a first round pick TE on the roster that had just been drafted a couple of years earlier. It was all agreed upon by everybody when it came time to present it to the public though. Spy guy was there for all that and knows what time it is. Pete will get in where he fits in and coach the team. He'll concentrate on what he's good at, fixing this dumpster fire defense. So will Chip, who is probably on his last chance as an NFL OC and who is being well compensated to do it.

I already have plausible denial that I ever said this, lol. But seriously, I think he's our pick. I've thought this since this process started.

I think we might go up with the Giants. I think that's why they're bluffing like they might take him. Saints aren't trading from 9 to them. They'll try to get to the Jaguar pick, but I don't think they're going to pass on using their pick unless it's very compelling.

If they can pull this off, I'll say they've done a good job of not looking thirsty like the last regime. Play it cool and then send in the card two minutes after we're on the clock. Everybody knew we wanted Daniels or Penix a year ago and had no other viable options on our roster.
I don’t think a QB at 6 makes any sense. We gave up draft capital to get Smith, who’s Carroll’s man, and gave him an extension. He’s starting this season, and probably next. We need a starting RB, WR1, a starting corner, a starting guard (maybe 2), a LB, and maybe a safety. I would love to trade back with the Steelers and get extra draft capital to fill our needs. There’s no doubt we’re looking at a developmental QB at some point. There are a lot of guys in the league who don’t even think Sanders is a first round talent, much less going to a team who just traded for an established starter who our HC backs 100%.

I love trades. But I don’t want Pitts to get a QB that’s any good. So, unless we think Sanders sucks, I’m loathed to help that organization.
As do I, but if gets us more picks I would be down for it they’ll probably just draft Milroe in the second…unless we get him first.

probably not washed 100% but his cap hits don’t look great going forward and it’s not like he will get better as a player. He does have 33” arms though….
Is he a guy that could transition to safety in a few years?

I agree with this. Spy Guy seems to covet his picks. Vegas has Geno for at least two seasons. I think they will draft their back up and developmental guy in the 4th or 5th and see if he's someone that can take over in a couple years. I honestly dont see a huge drop off from Sanders to the next tier of QB's like Howard, McCord. Certainly not anything that warrants the 6th pick.

We didn't have a QB until we traded for him. One thing has nothing to do with the other. It was a third round pick. In other words, a Lynn bowden or Tanner Muse. I don't ge tthis talking about us trading for him when we didn't have a QB before that. Then, it was people talking about his contract, which ended up being essentially a year-to-year one year deal by all appearances. If he's there, him being our pick makes way more sense than anybody else there, especially a replaceable position like RB.

Except Howard sucks, lol. Apply the TOSU rule before CJ Stroud to him.

Alot of people are ignoring this

Btw, a lot of people didn't think Nix was a first rounder either. I know I heard that a lot a year ago. He was OROY runner up. Embrace it. Prime 25 is about to happen.

The 26 class isn't bad, it just depends on a lot of underclassmen coming out.

Ok you made your point lol. You are not going to hear the end of it, if it he goes elsewhere.

I tune out after the draft anyway, so I won't hear it, lol. But I'm not trying to be right. I have been saying since midseason he was who we were going to be targeting. I know most of the board is not a fan, but I've liked him.

Nix played on a team with an elite defense. He was exposed in the playoff game. His ceiling is probably that of a game manager. We need to address the line or a guy like Sanders would get killed. If is last name wasn’t Sanders he probably wouldn’t be regarded as a first round QB. I don’t have anything against the guy, I just don’t think picking him makes any sense, especially with developmental guys with higher ceilings are to be had in later rounds.
