NFL teams like the vertical jump and shuttle times. Other than those two metrics, Joyner has some tools to work with—6’4”/282 lbs, 34” arms, 4.6 40.

With decent technique he could get his hands on a lot of OTs. His arms are two inches longer than Maxx's, shorter than Tyree's. So it's not everything. I hate it when linemen don't bench.

Dafuq is an unofficial RAS lol.

They really need to start regulating the sports data industry.
That particular RAS was from the day of drills at the combine thus the data was “unofficial” until the combine says it’s official. The RAS guy will typically update his info as things become official and more information is gathered like Pro Days and such. In this particular case when everything was said and done his RAS was lowered.

Also looks like it was affected by incorrect information for other prospects as well. Sacrificing accuracy for the sake of content, it seems. At least this guy seems somewhat transparent about it. Just a beef I have with the commercial sports analytics industry in general. They just throw shit out for fan consumption with no integrity in the product.

The RAS rankings are what they are. At least compiling that information (and denoting what is unofficial) is useful.

Those 3-cone and short shuttle times for Joyner cannot be consistent with his tape. No way he gets signed by Spytek with an OK by Carroll.

I’m not a data person but our department’s data and analytics team has been under me for a few years now and I know firsthand how important accuracy and viable samples are to credibility. If it’s not accurate, people won’t trust it. If they can’t trust it, it gets ignored even when it’s accurate because nobody has the time to be double checking. These fan service sites don’t even care if it’s actually viable information as long as they can get a repost. They actually manipulate it for that purpose in most instances.

He's a udfa... RAS scores mean not much when you have tape.

Lol

Look at who we drafted. Whatever version of athletic scoring we used meant a lot.
Sure. We definitely took athletic scores into account. But for UDFAs? We are looking for guys we think can provide depth. If we hit on a few - great. But the "noise" means less in picking them. We got guys that we were fast enough to sign before others could. Best fits.

Forty-yard dash..

Tre Tucker 4.40
Dont'e Thorton 4.30

But the game tape says it's the opposite. Pads, technique, whatever.

S Jonathan Sutherland and LB Jaylon Smith signed to active roster after minicamp tryouts
