We lack a lot of talent. and when we got it, we trade it.
I’d trade Maxx …

I see two FAs we absolutely should re-sign: Spillane and Moehrig (sorry Carr's jilted lover). I like Hobbs but dude misses way too many games. Bring back Butler and Koonce on team friendly deals as well if you can.

Las Vegas Raiders

2024 record: 4-12
Final FPI ranking: 22
Estimated 2025 cap space: $73.2 million
2025 first-round draft pick: 6

Biggest offseason priority: Figure out the quarterback situation. A year after six quarterbacks were taken in the first 12 selections of the draft -- the Raiders picked 13th and landed tight end Brock Bowers -- Las Vegas might again be in the market for a franchise passer. Alas, a late-season winning streak knocked the franchise from a clear path to the No. 1 selection and, presumably, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders. But might the efficient play of Aidan O'Connell make the point moot enough that the Raiders choose to simply build around him? Coach Antonio Pierce said he believes O'Connell will be a starting NFL quarterback, but when -- and for whom?

Under-the-radar offseason priority: Entering the season finale, the Raiders had a top-10 defense in yards allowed. If continuity is important, they will have many decisions to make, with as many as 10 unrestricted free agents on that side of the ball. Seven of them are current starters -- defensive tackles John Jenkins and Adam Butler, defensive end K'Lavon Chaisson, linebackers Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo, cornerback Nate Hobbs and safety Tre'von Moehrig. -- Paul Gutierrez

Latest on whether they will re-sign Moehrig: Moehrig is a standout player in a loaded free agent safety class. Perhaps that safety depth helps Las Vegas in re-signing him, but the Raiders will be in transition, and he can command top dollar elsewhere. He had two picks this season. -- Fowler

Draft outlook: It feels like quarterback or bust for the Raiders after missing out on all six first-round quarterbacks last year. Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders are the only quarterbacks with first-round projections, and the Raiders' late-season wins might have dropped them out of the mix for both. If a quarterback can't be had in the draft, a top-tier wide receiver -- Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan? -- would boost an offense that has struggled to score this season. -- Miller

Big prediction for the offseason: The Raiders will almost certainly have another camp quarterback battle next offseason, but between whom? I predict they'll trade Gardner Minshew to a team that needs a veteran, opening the competition between Aidan O'Connell and a rookie early draft pick, either Sanders or Ward. It's a bad quarterback class, but the Raiders are so desperate I could see them trading up to be the team that takes the first passer off the board. -- Solak

Solak really thinks the Raiders would have a shot at one of two QBs sitting at #6 overall? With Tennessee, Cleveland, and the New York Football Giants all ahead up them and in need of a QB? What is this dude smoking?

It’s a long way to the draft and Sanders has nowhere to go but down. I wouldn’t bet my lunch money on it but I do think he’s a bit of a wild card. Objectively I think he’s a lower ceiling prospect and who knows what type of hijinks his camp has planned.

The negativity in the space is going so strong people don't even think about it, affecting their thinking about everything.

How many thousand yard WRs were there this season? Did every team have one? The Raiders had Meyers and Bowers. And that was with Minshew, O'Connell and Ridder; and an O-line that could not block.

Spillane is better than a JAG, Moehrig is much more than a JAG. Wilkerson is a top-shelf DT. There are more, but fuck it, y'all just shit on every player.

A good chunk of those 1000+ yards for both players came in the fourth quarter while trailing by double digits.

LOL. IF your assertion is correct -- and I do not accept it -- the opposing D was still playing and teeing off on the pass rush.

Meyers got 88 yards in the first half Sunday.

I shit on everything associated with this team, but you have a point. Spillane and Moehrig are at worse above average players. Bennett was getting there. Maxx is elite, and when healthy so is Wilkens. Bennett, Laulu, Chiasson all could improve. On O- Bowers is the best TE in football right now. J. Meyers is solid as a number 2 WR, and JPK and the doughnut will only improve. This team is not devoid of talent.

It is devoid of a plan, a competent owner, an OC, a HC and a QB.
