2025 Mock Draft thread...

Or he's pretending to have a strained shoulder...

Think About It GIF by Identity

You'd think a guy with a 2 foot wingspan would be knocking people out of the way to do the bench.

It's where we are in February. What else is there to talk about? We've gotten all the mileage we can out of Canada's shattered hockey dreams.

Until something of interest happens, all we can do is make passing wisecracks about the uninteresting shit.

Are there any interesting Twitter takes on Rodriguez skipping the bench!

1. Las Vegas Raiders
Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana

The Raiders haven't drafted a QB in the first round since 2007 (JaMarcus Russell), but you can write this pick down with a marker. It would be a stunner if Las Vegas elected not to draft Mendoza. The clear top QB in this year's class has a combination of accuracy, resiliency and decision-making -- exactly what the Raiders need under center. Adding Mendoza to third-year tight end Brock Bowers and second-year running back Ashton Jeanty gives new head coach Klint Kubiak a promising offensive trio to build around.

36. Las Vegas Raiders
Lee Hunter, DT, Texas Tech

The Raiders are switching to a 3-4 defense next season and need a centerpiece on their front. Hunter is a massive presence in the middle (6-foot-4, 318 pounds) and a player you can build a culture around.

The next three picks were offensive linemen, fwiw.

That’s a nice start! Better get some OL pieces in FA though.

I’m against switching to a 3-4. Unless they have a real solid plan to fix that LB situation. Do you think it premature to be making a drastic change like that?

OTOH, in Klint we trust.

Hunter had a pretty disappointing Combine performance. Not sure what that does to his draft stock. But, as pure run plug, I don't suppose you necessarily have to be an impressive athlete. Is that something you draft 36th overall?

Rodriguez Bailey Height on that D as well. But Hunter made a shit ton of plays. Like 20 TFLS the last couple years. So he spends some time in the backfield making his own plays.

Did he open it up for everyone or benefit from a really good roster.

I think he’s worthy of a pick in that range. We definitely need a NT in a a 3-4 lol.

Teams play nickel over 60% of the time, then multi after that. McDonald seemed surprised when a reporter tried to pigeon hole his D as a 3-4.

Plugs typically fall.

I didn’t research the player much, just liked getting a highly rated NT. He was more than just a plug in college no? I’m not that into what his underwear olympics scores were.

He was a good player in college and was unblockable at the Senior Bowl.

We could do much worse. Like draft Jack Bech and pretend that was an amazing choice all summer.
