2024 Mock Draft thread...

13. Las Vegas Raiders
Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
The Raiders addressed their most pressing need of the offseason by signing defensive tackle Christian Wilkins to a huge free agent deal, which forms one of the most devastating defensive line duos in football with him and Maxx Crosby. Next up is the right side of the offensive line, as the Raiders are thin at both tackle and guard there. Fuaga would alleviate that issue in a hurry. He is known for bringing a nastiness to an offensive line and setting the tone, but he's also an impressively smooth-moving right tackle.

Projected trade: Raiders slide up for QB6
One more trade projection here, and it's for the last remaining quarterback I have ranked in my top 50. After missing out on the top five passers on Day 1 and knowing teams will be eyeing the QBs available here, I have the Raiders sending No. 44 and a 2025 third-rounder to the Commanders for No. 36.

36. Las Vegas Raiders (via mock trade with WSH)
Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington
Penix has a huge arm and threw for 4,903 yards last season. Even after signing Gardner Minshew to compete with Aidan O'Connell, the Raiders have to add a quarterback. Penix has an injury history (knee and shoulder), and teams will have varying levels of comfort there, but his upside is immense.

of course I would love this but I think there is about a 0.1% chance Penix is there at 36.

Penix at 36 would be a worthwhile swing. I doubt he’ll be there. Somebody is going to take a shot in round one.

Agreed.

Don't fuck around. Don't find out.

Seeing more mocks with guys like JC Latham and Amarius Mims at 13 and honestly I could live with it IF we still end up with Penix/Nix. Latham/Mims aren't my ideal picks at 13 (I'd prefer Fuaga/Fautanu if we went OL) but I could live with addressing the OL... and then ideally grabbing a vet CB sometime this offseason.

Only way we end up with Penix is to take him @13. I don’t think he gets by Seattle.
Kiper made a recent comment he's hearing both Penix and Nix will likely last to the end of the 1st and we'll see teams trading up for them.

Mims is too much of a risk with all the other OT talent on the board.

I get the 'Toledo, didn't face elite WRs' objections, but Mitchell was real good at the Senior Bowl. That should count for something.

I get the feeling that if the schools were reversed....Mitchell would be the clear cut #1 CB from Bama and Arnold would be a Day Two 'maybe' from Toledo.

Don't want a CB at 13, but if that's what we do, Mitchell >> Arnold.

Here he is attempting to cover NFL caliber WRs.

I think Stroud had about 700 yards and 12 TDs. I'm sure the Senior Bowl was nice though

Graham’s going to love those 20 yard cushions.
