2023 College Football Thread

He was slated to go early first - everyone was surprised when he slid.

He went into the season as the presumptive 1.1 but started to slide as he got scrutinized a little more and the physical limitations became more apparent. He’s actually patient zero of my “next year is always better” shtick. Dude was such a technician at the QB position in college though.

Vinny. You wrote a love letter to dude after his junior year or some shit, lol. It was one of the few times we agreed on something, so I remember.

I think we all agree that Williams is a better prospect, but just saying, you were star crossed by Bridgewater and swore he'd be great. Ten years later, he's a journeyman backup, with or without the nearly amputated leg. Just saying, I'd temper the confidence that this guy is going to be CJ Stroud.

Let's just say that I'm MUCH higher on Williams. I do buy the Mahomes comparison...I think he's that good.

That being said...we have no chance of getting him. My next favorite QB in this draft is Nix. I was listening to Jordan Palmer...who trains most of the top QB's..and he said that Nix is the best after Williams and Maye.

Hopefully people aren’t high on Penix, because I think he’s the right fit for the team if his stock doesn’t rise. To have a shot at him, it’ll help us if Nix and Williams enter the draft. But for the likely excessive price to trade up for Williams isn’t worth it. Nix would be a solid pick also if he’s the odd man out instead of Penix. But I’m hoping it’s Penix who ends up being the 3rd qb in draft stock.

Nix is a 6th year senior.

I'm pretty sure he's in the draft lol.

After watching Jj suck ballz vs Maryland I’m not too optimistic but if he pulls his head out of ass we’ve got a shot.

I usually don't comment too much on the college stuff, as I don't really get to watch any of it, but keep an eye on Arizona next year. They've taken down I believe 3 teams ranked in the teens, to get them to #16 currently. Came really close against Washington and USC (triple OT) and OT for their other loss. Everything has gone upwards since the freshman QB took over when the starter was injured. HC Jedd Fisch is on his 3rd year and just keeps pushing the program upwards (1-11, 5-7, 8-3). Not saying they will be National Champs next year, but definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Most experienced QB in college football history, according to games played. I really like Nix.

Rising: Bo Nix, Oregon

For my money, Daniels has been the best quarterback in the country through 11 games. Nix deserves to be No. 2.

The Oregon senior did not have his best game in a thrilling loss to Washington earlier in the year, but that’s not to say he played poorly. He didn’t, but the standard Nix has set for himself in just about every other appearance this year — especially down the stretch — has been top-shelf.

Nix’s accuracy since the Washington game has been outstanding, perhaps the best stretch of his career. He’s made more plays vertically, too, as Oregon’s hardly just relied on the quick game with him. Nix has totaled 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions the last two weeks in wins over USC and Arizona State.

In both games, his off-target percentage was below 3.5 — which is ridiculous. Stock up.

So UM at -4 to open the week. What are the chances either team stays in the CFP with a loss?
