hello all raider fans, this is my first post on this board, i do alot of posting at www.fansinblack.com if you post on that board my board name is raider34, but i was wondering if anyone has ne ideas on who the raiders will draft this up comming draft, if Awal doesnt work out i would like to see Brady Quinn or Troy Smith, and if not those 2 Calvin Johnson, WR out of GT. that is JMHO. can i get some feedback please

While I tend to agree with you.. when you've got a top 3 pick, you either have to ass rape someone to trade down, or you take the marquee player (Calvin Johnson) that also fits a position of need. We've had better luck with non first-round O-linemen anyway.

Still wondering if we shouldn't have taken Ngata, to be honest.

Looking at all the problem children and busts of high first round wide outs I'd too prefer to pass. I'd rather a DT or the stud running back like Peterson. LaMont Jordan IMO isn't the guy long run. And as far as need goes I think WR is down the list when you consider the middle of our DL and our questionable running back situation. Think San Diego is sorry they took Tomlinson?

Marcus Allen made a huge difference for the Raiders when he was taken at #10...pissing matches notwithstanding Allen was a great Raider and made this club better for 10 years.

We're going to have to fill in via FA on the OL or DL to make the while thing fit together.

Troy Smith is like 5-10. No way he goes in the first 6 rounds as a QB. If he's willing to play WR, maybe he goes in the second or third rounds.

Calvin Johnson in the first would be cool.

We should have drafted Leinart, but thats a discussion for another day. :)

This year I would be cool with any of: Calvin Johnson, Alan Branch, Brady Quinn, Gaines Adams, Adrian Peterson or Joe Thomas.

Big list I know, but when a team is as devoid of talent as we are, any help is good.

Branch or Quinn are my favorites though. (I know Quinn has a ton of detractors, but I personally see a ton of Carson Palmer/Marc Bulger in him)

Personally right now if we are in the top 5 I want Lynch, Peterson (even with the injury) or Johnson... Noone else impresses me enough to use that pick on them.

Can we pick a Draft a Offense Coordinator or Owner?

Seriously..........
We need a Linemen (ok multiples) and a QB I think. Even if it only pushes Walter, It looks like we may need a DT and a back up RB.....

Also welcome to RF3.....

I'd say Calvin Johnson would be the guy right now especially after Porter and Moss are gone after the season but he wouldn't be my first choice. Too many first round busts and head cases at the wr position. We have other pressing needs before we pursue a wideout.

I'd prefer to trade down and get some value.

He could be our next Tim Brown. The guy is that good. Then, we spend the next six rounds drafting nothing but offensive and defensive linemen. Heh.

Personally, I prefer Lynch to Peterson. It might be my Cal bias but he seems the more versatile back to me. Kind of an Edgerin James vs. Eddie George thing to me. Peterson is a monster but I'm predicting a relatively short NFL career for him because of the way he runs.

On the DT front...

You certainly can't fault the pick, but I like our history of finding DL talent in the later rounds. Running the ball is huge for a team built around its defense.

Turo (I think you mentioned this somewhsere -- but can't find it)...wha'ts this stuff about Lynch being in trouble in the Bay Area? Can you expand on that?

All I know about the kid is that he's been mixed up in some questionable shit off the field.. like nearly getting shot. But, coach Tedford says he's a model citizen. I dunno that it was me specifically you're thinking of as I haven't really done any investigative work on the kid. But, that's what I know of him, anyway.
