#1 Draft Pick - Raiders vs. Lions

Now that we have a different coordinator on O, if we get some O-linemen in to actually block, then Walter will look immeasurably improved. The reason that Brooks looks somewhat improved over Walter is that he can sometimes run for his frigging life when the line ole's their guy.

I seriously doubt we'll be drafting a QB anytime before the second day, if then.

While I like Calvin Johnson's immeasurables, I'd rather use the pick on a RB if we're going to stay put. I just don't see him that big of an impact in this offense right away. We've got the chance to try to level the table with the rest of the AFC West at RB, we've got to take a shot at AP or ML. With ML, we can trade down and still have an outside shot at a Dwayne Jarrett. whom IMO will be as much of an impact guy as CJ.

I'd be much more agreeable to taking Calvin Johnson/Adrian Peterson in the 1st and then quenching Al's thirst for a Heisman winner by taking Troy Smith in the 2nd. Say what you will about Smith's funky delivery and lake of height, but he just makes plays and is a bona fide leader out there... something we drastically need at the QB position. Let Walter and Smith battle it out in training camp with a vet like Griese.

It's good to see that you guys are with me on this Griese thing. I believe he is under contract but we could dangle Porter as trade bait I'm sure. Griese would be perfect for Shoop's offense if that's the direction we decide to go.

You gotta wonder what Lovie Smith is doing in Chicago sticking with that stiff Groosman. Griese would be a much better fit for them right now and maybe even assure a spot in the Super Bowl.

I wouldn't have a problem with Griese as our QB if we could then land a super star quality running back. I'm wondering if Al would use the #2 pick on a running back? Hey couldn't work out any worse than the LT pick art #2. I'm just not feeling the WR pick in the first round. I don't think that is how you build an offense. You think the guy would be catching 100 balls in this offense?

I'm really starting to jump on that Troy Smith bandwagon. A guy with his mobility who looks to throw first? I like it.

Don't like the height if he measures under 6 feet, but if he is 6 feet, he's the same height as Brees, an inch shorter than Vick, and an inch taller than Seneca Wallace.

I think there's a place in this league for Troy Smith.
