For all the bitching this place does, you'd think he put up less than 3000 yards and had more picks than TDs last year.

Just, No. Time to hit you with the facts stick.

    * Worst surrounding talent since 2014

    * Second LOWEST number of passing attempts in his career

    * MOST yards in his career (4000+ ffs)

    * STILL put up 2:1 TD/INT ratio

    * Put up these numbers despite getting wrecked by opposing defenses, sacked 51 times (about the same as 2014 and 2015 combined, fucks sake)

    * Second highest QB rating of his career (93.9, just short of his near MVP season, you tards!)

    * HIGHEST completion percentage of his career ALONG with the highest avg yds per pass.

Derek Carr is our QBOTF, has the skillset to take us to the promised land, we ain't trading him, we ain't drafting his replacement. Dude is the real deal. You hatin' motherfuckers need to take a long hard look at what we had between Gannon (who you hated on too) and now, with Carr.

    We good.

    Fight me.

    Wut?

    None of that makes sense?

    I swear I saw a pussy-cat . . . , I mean, turtle.

    We had the vaunted receiving corp of Cook, and . . . , well, . . . . We had a RB named . . . , wait, KO was playing at a high . . . , like he was high.

    What was the point again?

    Oh, yea, we had a great D . . . , no.

    Okay, I relent.

Derek Carr is not our QBOTF.

He will be our QB in 2019 though.

I want us to be good. A hater cheers for him to fail. I don’t want that at all.

5+ years of film has lead me to believe our super bowl leading QB is not currently on the roster though.

How about not intentionally throwing the ball away on 4th down, too? That would be a good start.

garbage time stats are garbage time stats

His teammates lost faith in him, he’s lost faith in them.

New teammates now, can he build trust? We’ll find out. Can he really win big games like 2016 or was that a fluke season?

Carr has yet to unlock a solid deep ball with that arm. Gruden runs many WCO concepts but that doesn't mean he doesn't wanna stretch the field. There is a reason we just added three WR's who can make big plays. Brown can do everything and draw attention from the defense. T.Williams and JJ.Nelson are straight up deep route runners first and foremost. If you're smart you sign those dudes expecting them to do that and its a pleasant surprise and bonus should they do more. HENCEFORTH its obvious Gruden wants to throw the deep ball this year.

Im guessing Gruden is giving Carr this year to prove he can stretch the field and score tons of point. He has eliminated all excuses for Derek. He has weapons, he has a decent OL with assets invested bigtime. I totally expect a RB/TE addition in the draft and probably another OG who can swing out to OT in the future should Miller/Brown/Parker all sucks balls.

If Carr is checking down, throwing out of bounds and taking sacks next year it will be his final dance in S&B. Carr will unlock his deep ball and threaten the defense or the Raiders will be ALL in on a QB next year in the draft. I do think they believe there's a chance Carr can turn the corner tho, thats why they havent moved on yet. Antonio Brown is excited to play with Carr. He is getting a chance to redeem himself.

I still think the Raiders would take Kyler Murray or Haskins tho. The QB position is the most important in football. I think they would rather trade the pick than draft Haskins. But I think they have indemnified him as a franchise guy. I think they want to draft Murray, but dont wanna waste assets moving up.

Actually I think this is correct.

We're all hoping (at some level) that the magic will happen under Gruden this year with a little help from the supporting cast. Wishful thinking? Probably but do we have a choice? Actually we do: Baker Mayfield's Cleveland Browns. ;)

Sorry @Turo. The consensus of the scouts, GM's and former head coaches at B/R.net is that stats don't count unless they are utilized to point out DC's deficiencies. In which case they are solid evidence of his inadequacy. Any positive stats are merely window dressing achieved during "garbage time" and, as Warren Sapp and our own @Bunyan pointed out, are for losers....

    so... :neener:

I think Carr is an above average Qb who has a chance to become just below the elite guys. At his best he can get in the 5-10 range among NFL QBs. The front office will have to decide whether that's what they want to roll with or if they want to shoot for the stars. They would be smart to build around him this draft and accumulate more picks for next year should they want to move on.

I think Carr is Carrbage. I don't see him leading this team to any Superbowl, he pees on his leg in KC and I'm sure he does at home too.

Gruden and Mayock loaded up this offense so there is no excuse for her, although I believe if Murray is there they will draft him.

One common thing I’ve heard Mayock say about Carr, is that they can’t evaluate him with out giving him talent around him. So I’m sure they’re not done getting offensive weapons yet.

I honestly think he will improve, but not enough to convince me he’s the answer, he’s still shit and a pussy.

We aren’t going to cut Carr. But we could trade him or develop a rookie behind him.

If I believed in Murray or Haskins, I’d be fine pulling the trigger this year. But I’m not.

Some say pull the bandaid off. But I want an edge defender or to trade down at #4.

I’m not for trading Carr b/c his stock is about as low as it could be right now. However, I see Carr having a good year and rebuilding his value and fetching more in a trade next year while avoiding a huge cap hit at the same time.

Exactly how I feel. Mayock always said on NFLN that franchise QB trumps all so I have no doubt if he feels a guy like that is on the board they will take him in any draft unless we already have a franchise signal caller. Carr is definitely at his lowest value right now.
