Totally deserved. Brown is a jackass .
If the league decides to suspend this idiot, do we get salary cap $$$ back?
Get the overhead projector out and cut him for cause
Can’t rely on him due to his injuries and now this. Then removes tracing device which only exacerbates the issues.
Why would anyone remove that device? Seriously, why do that?
Didn't want to be seen going to a strip club?
Or worse. Could be something far worse. Remember purple drank guy?
Colin (@OcRaiderMx): What’s the current relationship with the Raiders and Trent Brown? Does he really love football? I see him tweeting all day but still hasn’t publicly come out to apologize to the team and his teammates. Could this be his last year in silver and black?
Vinny Bonsignore: The Raiders are frustrated with him. His apparent failure to adhere COVID-19 protocols does not help. There have always been concerns in the NFL about Brown’s passion for football, going all the way back to his draft year. What has happened this season certainly adds to those concerns. With all of his guaranteed money paid out by the end of this season, this certainly could be his last season with the Raiders.
JB Black heart (@Jubair22): Could all this have been avoided if Trent Brown wore the tracker in the facility?
VB: Yes. According to people close to the situation, Brown was not always wearing the monitor. Without having access to the data on that monitor, the Raiders could not specifically rule out teammates and coaches. So the only alternative was to error on the side of caution and deem the five teammates as high risk. As a result, Jonathan Abram will not play on Sunday, and the other four starting offensive linemen will have to play on Sunday without the benefit of practicing this week or being allowed in the building, if they even play at all.
^ Brown is a grade A jack ass. He really is the Jemarcus Russell of o-linemen. Multiple beat reporters are saying the team is fed up with him. Bill knew, Gruden didn't.
I wonder if there's an opportunity to go after some of that guaranteed money based on rule violations?
I'm not exactly sure what the angle would be but it's frustrating that his actions can cost the team like that yet still get paid.
I don't think he has any guaranteed money next year. The idea was that Brown would be more motivated if he was, in essence, in a contract year. It backfired b/c we overpaid him this year for the benefit of cutting him next year.
I meant this year. Cut his ass for cause and then recoup some of the money.
All players’ salaries are guaranteed in season. Guarantees only matter in offseason, no?
I'm just throwing shit against the wall out of spite here but there might be an avenue based on conduct.
If nothing else we could cut him and make him file a grievance to get paid.
I'd have to think that most teams include a Jamarcus Russell clause in contracts now.
I think it comes down to the collective bargaining agreement on what kind of Clauses can be put in player contracts. I think the Dolphins were able to recoup some Ricky Williams money for one reason or another so some things can be done. I have no idea what it is or isn't allowed though. That's for lawyers.
Start looking at RT's that will be free agents and those that will come out in the draft next year.
Brown will be gone after this season.
Nah...just draft one with our top 10 pick. Assuming that the league doesn't take it away for us being morons.
Thank God for small favors!
