This, plus a 1st round QB to sit behind him for a couple years.

Look up the dead money NO would have to eat if they traded Brees.

Oh, and he also has a no trade clause.
 
The Saints gave up a 3 for Teddy B, who is set to be a FA after the season.

Did they pay that high a price for a backup QB on a one year rental? I rather doubt it.

Brees' time in New Orleans is coming to a close. If he's not planning on retiring, we'd find no better bridge QB to help a rookie learn this offense for a couple years.

Go get him.

Well, NO would still have to cut him... in which case he'd be a 41 y/o QB probably more interested in being a hired gun for a team like Jacksonville.
