The Todd Downing Thread

Cook has been targeted 34 times this year. Walford the previous year was targeted only 23 times. The targets are there for Cook IMO. Carr is just not doing what he needs to do. It's like he is totally gun shy after that big pick against Washington.

Needs something to take that bad taste out of his mouth.

How many of those targets were from EJ this season? It looked like he went to him quite a bit that game. I don't have had taste, just stating facts.

Not getting enough out of Cook. He should be opening things up, instead thing seem to have closed things down. I expected more than an extra catch and 10 yards a game from him.

Not getting enough out of everyone on O, not just Cook. Name one player that we are getting an appropriate level of production out of... not anyone on the OL, not any of the wrs, or rbs, or the QB. Its a collective effort. And the OC deserves a lot of the blame as he's not putting guys in a position to succeed and not calling / creating plays that will defeat the D. Players are obviously contributing to the shitshow with their poor execution (missed blocks, dropped balls, off target throws).

8 Targets in the Denver game. The most he's had this season, his worst game though only caught 3 of 8. I'm not sure who targeted him more Carr or EJ.

Against Baltimore he got his usual 6 Targets and only caught 3. Last week was his worst only targeted 3 times caught 2.
His targets for a TE are not too bad, the production we are getting from him isn't that great though.

Raiders OC Todd Downing is another hire that was made due to his religious affiliation. The Raiders are NOT a meritocracy w/Reggie in charge

That's Jared Cook's career in a nutshell.

This is who he's always been.

I read somewhere that Downing doesn't want Carr changing the plays? Does anyone know if there's anything to that? It seems like he's not audibling nearly as much as he did last year. It seemed like he was at the line changing shit and barking out calls like a madman last year, which probably explained why the playclock nearly always hit zero before the ball was snapped. This year he seems to be getting the ball with 15-16 seconds on the play clock.
