The Del Rio, Pagano & Norton Thread

JDR's never had a D play this bad before. Norton has his fingers on this. Don't kid yourself.

This is JDR's baby. Blame him for hiring a guy who he can't even turn things over to if he wanted to. Too many former players say he micromanaged the defense from his DCs in JAX for him to have have suddenly changed his second go around with a DC who has never done it before. I'd buy it if Grantham was here and maybe that's what he wanted to do before he got stuck with Norton, but he's definitely running this.

It's time to just roll with that young guys on that line.. Autry, Ward, etc... Williams just doesn't have it anymore...

Yes, no doubt. But Norton's doing the play calling, no? The game planning? Something's being lost in translation.

Not Del Rio's fault that two tipped passes went for a TD and a huge first down. Also not his fault that Crabs' TD was called back for out of bounds

I said it before... Norton is just the lackey.

This defense has JDR's fingerprints all over it.

It's constructed just like his JAX ones with Strowd and Henderson up front with the LBs supposed to be the playmakers. Same thing when he was in Baltimore where he learned it. Imo, it's how you can tell he's in charge of what it looks like because when he was in Denver, it didn't look quite like this and more reflected Fox.

Sadly it is not the tackling. WRs are wide open as hell. Obvious running plays gain seven or eight yards. The pass rush schemes are not even acknowldgeables. Tarver looks like MIke Ditka compared to these pathetic unit, from head to toe.

Norton does not have a clue about how to coordinate a fucking defense...period.

We need him to have a Mike Gundy type meltdown. Light a fire under someone's ass damnit

The two tipped balls are part of the game. The Falcons actually could've won by more. They could've scored 21 in the first half. No way you give up back to back 500 yard games and blame a loss on tipped balls. Raiders lost because their defense played like sieve.

I go back to what I said when Rob Ryan was here and people were defending him because supposedly Al.....defensive playcalling is just as much of an art as offensive playcalling. Whoever is doing ours isn't good at it, and we haven't had somebody who was good at it probably since Al was at the tail end of his organizational coaching days signaling in to Bres the first go around.

\ Nicely said.

Why couldn't he get Mike Nolin? They were in Baltimore together weren't they and dude needs a job.
Bring in the asshole--the former HC for the Jets. He's gathering dust somewhere, no?
