The Not Too Early 2018 Draft thread

These are the guys I want to see in East West and Sr Bowls. Looks fairly fluid in space.

He’s supposedly quite the athlete:

“16. Jordan Williams, LB, East Carolina
The Pirates combine all their physical testing data into a "power quotient," and Williams sits atop that list, so consider him a freak athlete in a more formal way. At 222 pounds, the senior linebacker can squat 600, and his 374-pound power clean is a program record for linebackers. You want explosiveness? He can vertical jump 36.5 inches and broad jump 10-4. He's also been timed at 4.56 in the 40-yard dash. All that translates nicely to the field, as he led the Pirates in tackles last season.“

@Sleet is already dripping..

What's his 3-cone....

I bet Mack wouldn't mind this kind of help. Lol, he gets him doing a little hop thing at the end.

Florida DT Taven Bryan puts the LG on skates all the way back to the QB #NFLDraft #Gators https://t.co/gM77Zd4J64

My first impression is that the defensive side of this draft is pretty legit. Plenty of QBs that might get drafted ahead of us as well, helpful. (insert Carr joke)

Seems like we could find our edge guy. Also a few LBs worth a look.

This is the kind of WR we need to target in the draft. His partner in crime Sutton got all the pub, but Quinn did a lot of the heavy lifting.

SMU WR Trey Quinn

In a loaded receiving corps, Quinn surprisingly emerged as the go-to target this year for QB Ben Hicks, as he ranked third in the country in targets and first in receptions. His 91.1 overall grade ranks second behind on Gallup, and his 1.89 percent drop rate is the best in FBS

I think DT and LB is stronger that's for sure.

I'm almost certain we'll be going WR in the first 3 rounds. If it weren't for my blind faith that Reggie will finally address one of the positions we've been begging for.... I'd go CB/WR or vice versa in Round 1 and 2.

I think its safe to say there should be a pick that will help the front 7 hahaha
Between DT/Edge/LB I've got about 20-25 names that have my interest in the 1st to 4 rounds. That doesn't even count the guys I haven't even heard of or seen much from.

Just conducted my film assessment for #Gators DL Taven Bryan and I felt like I was watching Ndamukong Suh. He's a special talent in this class.Type of player a defensive front can be built around. #NFLDraft

Damn.... I'm really starting to see conversation about this guy heat up. Although the whole Suh conversation seems a bit of a reach...

we're gonna have 10 picks. I'd like 7 on the defensive side. Get guys in here at every level, line, LB, and secondary. Nab a WR, another o-lineman (can't have too many), and RB, and spend the rest on D.

I have heard top five rumblings. Jesus Christ talk about a meteoric rise.

I can't figure out which of his five career sacks or 10 career TFL's has people going so crazy.

And people will argue for different sides, but I've come to conclusion that the best NCAA passrushers usually end up being the best NFL passrushers. All the metrics and peripherals and measurables in the world and the biggest correlation I've found is going through the top sack/tfl guys from years past. Not lifts, PFF charts, SPARQ scores, 40 times, jump heights etc. Can a guy get to the QB today?

Funny as hell because I've tried so hard to find shit that wasnt there.

Reminds me of Justin Smith... which isn't a bad thing.

He's got a great 1st step, but the negative I see with him has been he seems to lack a plan, and can be washed out of the play at times in the run game. Although I don't think it is a huge issue.

I'm still in the feeling out process about his true draft stock, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him give Hurst a run for his money as being the best in the draft. His penetration and apparent speed is something that will be highly coveted IMO.

Well Bullard, Easley or Sharrif Floyd? All three were supposed to be elite pass rushing dynamos no? Or did you mean Caleb Brantley?

I have to see more. His highlight stuff looks great. But I've been fooled by that shit before.

To steal an anecdote: If he is such a good playmaker why doesnt he make any plays?

Eh... I didn't like either of them at all. This is the 1st one I've seen that I've liked in a long time.

Not necessarily comparing the two, but Floyd was getting top 5 hype as a passrusher while having next to no production as one. If Bryan is getting talked about as a guy who could go that early, the hype is pretty comparable.

Floyd. People had him fitted as a Raider with the #3 pick that year.
