The (Baseball) Head Rolling Thread

Hell yeah I buy that. He is a very driven guy and wanted a new challenge. What else could he have done in L.A.? Really, the only way to go was down after the wild success he experienced there.
Kobe didn't get any rings after 2002? I'm not saying there is no truth to what you're saying, but the Logo would not have left if he remained Buss' right hand man, which he didn't.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I believe West when he said he wanted a new challange.

Funny thing is, Buss' son got the last laugh. Neither the Logo nor Phil are running the team.

A's get Zobrist. The team might actually be worth more wins as currently constructed than it was to begin last year.

If Lawrie stays healthy this could, maybe even should, be a playoff team.

A's aren't going anywhere this season. Glad the Giants didn't pull the trigger on that deal.

Man im glad the padres are trying to breathe life into their franchise. not sure if it will all work out but at least it's exciting for once

They've got a real nice young pitching staff and had some nice acquisitions this offseason. They could contend this year

Yeah, why would the Giants want a 5-win player if they can't sell a gay ass animal hat based on the guy

Good call

Because he ain't going to make any difference when your management gutted the team of your best players. Beane swung for the fences and failed miserably

I'm not saying I was a fan of watching Donaldson and Moss go, but the team is in better shape for this year and beyond than it was with them.

We went into the offseason with an MVP 3B, a solid 1B, and shit at 2B and SS.

We know have an all-star calibre 3B, a solid platoon at 1B, an all-star calibre 2B, a starting SS and a SS of the future. And a few prospects and pitchers sprinkled in.

Beane's early moves looked boneheaded but he's made the team better.

Never understood the Cespedes trade. You knew Lester was going to be a short term rental

Can you start a thread in the MLB forum?

Tired of looking for "rolling heads' and finding baseball talk. :dumb:

@Madturk
this is the only forum anyone ever traffics, therefore for all intents and purposes this is the entirety of BlackReign.net... this forum, and this forum only.

now go back to bed, you're drunk.

You know what, of all the in-season trades that was the one I liked haha

You've seen your team win with elite top-end pitching. That's the formula. The A's have always had great rotations, but the ace of the staff was never elite. Maybe Gray can be that guy soon, but he was sputtering at the end of last year.

Lester was a guy who had proven to be a playoff monster and was having a career year. Cespedes was an overrated player, albeit super fun to watch.

Lester gave us a chance to match up with aces like Shields and Scherzer. It just so happens that the rest of the team hit the wall.

Cespedes went on to hit worse in a more hitter-friendly park, while Lester dragged us into the wild card.

We knew he wasn't here long term, but he was the guy that was supposed to get us over the hump. It didn't work out and all we lost was a year of a 2.5 win LF
