Sean Smith arrested for assault

JDR has never fired his DC. Not just Norton.

Which goes back to what I said before last year, because he's heavily involved in that side of the ball. It's like when Al hired DCs. He was still coordinating it.

You've persuaded me on this point. But I think Pagano was hired to take over the D.

Huh. I look at it as maintaining a degree of separation between himself and accountability.

When you fire a guy, you're basically saying whatever happens going forward is on me... especially when it's the side of the ball that you specialize in.

To be fair, JDR strikes me as the type of coach that put everything on the players anyway. I don't think he wants to be bothered by things like teaching rookies the ropes, etc. Probably the ex-player in him that can't quite understand why guys don't get/can't execute what seems so obvious to him and the other staff.

:wtf1:

I've actually been persuaded on this board before, have changed my opinion on things and have conceded points. You apparently have a better memory than me. Can't think of an instance where I had a ball to take home.

Disclaimer so as not to piss Bones off: I'm not trying to re-start this conversation. I won't offer any further response beyond this.

In the Colin Kaepernick thread, you literally got so frustrated by the conversation that you played the "nobody insults my vets; I'm singlehandedly making sure this thread gets closed" card. Despite the fact that it was a civil conversation.... that included a number of veterans. That's "taking my ball and going home" in my opinion.

Fair enough.
