Anyone watching the Workd Cup Rugby 7’s from AT&T Park? US had their best showing ever. Should have beaten England yesterday after stomping Wales. England got some fortunate bounces or US would have been in semis.

We have some blazing speed in the back field.

Tried watching but still can't get into it.

You'd think some of those read option college players would transition nicely to the sport though.

I played in college and club level after college. We played full sides, not this 7 man stuff. The 7 man game has short halves since they play more than one match a day and it's very tiring since there is so much room to run. Its really more about speed. Basically can't pass the ball forward or the ball goes to the other team. If you drop the ball forward its called a knock on and you cant advance. You can kick the ball to pin the other team back but they rarely do that in 7's. You cannot use your hands until the ball is released from the scrum although I think its a little different in 7's. The scrum half is the guy that passes the ball out when it leaves the scrum. 5 points for a try and 2 for the conversion. You kick the conversion from the point where the ball is touched in the end zone after a try.

That Nate Ebner guy for the Pats played for the Olympic side. US has two of the fastest backs in the world. Surprised more football guys don't make the transition.

Rugby's cool, would happily trade it for Baseball as a major sport here...
