Well gents, something that many folks through was impossible just a few weeks/months ago is finally happening.

    Actual, live, NFL Football.

Chiefs at Texans. Tonight. Should be a lot of offense.

From experience over here sport without a crowd aint the same - with or without piped in crowd noise - but its better than nothing
    ( just)

I've been watching A's baseball since it up this year and the production crew does a pretty good job of creating realistic crowd noise, but I'm fairly certain it's just for the TV viewers and it isn't piped into the stadium for the players to hear.

I'm actually looking forward to watching some games. I haven't watched any sports in recent months.

Agreed. Why are they piping it in? For the players? To affect the game?

Texans play them well for some reason, but the Chefs still should win.

I think the NFL is piping it into the stadium like the Falcons and Colts did it back in the day. Kyle Shanahan was talking about it was a health risk because they're going to be doing that or some shit he said.

I think they put a cap on it at 70 decibels. I wonder if the home team will have control over when they crank it up and lower it.

Think it's supposed to simulate the home crowd noise and for the TV broadcast too.

It was funny as shit watching the NBA last night when it would cut out. Shit sounded like a high school gym because I don't think they can hear it there like it's going to be with the NFL.

I think though that's why Goodell is sticking to the teams with limited crowds won't have an advantage because they're all going to have piped in noise, so 15,000 or 20,000 fans won't make a difference.

In the NFL, the league has to agree to allow piped in sounds because they are allowing fans in some stadiums when other teams will have no fans (due to local ordnance). So the in-stadium sound is intended to level the playing field.

I think it would be really interesting to watch a game with absolutely no crowd noise.

Last year in our football Amazon did a few games for the 1st time and gave you an option of watching with crowd noise only and no commentary.
I preferred that as you dont get commentary when at games in the stadiums and more important dont have to listen to the crap they come out with!

That is a really great feature. Just let me watch the game as a real spectator without the other nonsense.

But imagine what it would be like to hear the sounds of the game only. The crack of pads and helmets. The shuffling of cleats to get to the point of attack. The pigskin hitting the receiver's hands.

Do you think Gorilla Rilla wears his costume at home when he can't go to games?
