On Derek Carr, raiders 2018 draft picks, young building blocks and more.

Carr is going to have a good year.

#Bookmarked

I'm going with very good year... I think Gruden will end up being the best thing that ever happened to him...

I stop short of saying he'll have a great year because he'll need help to achieve that and this team talent wise is still a 6 win roster unless a whole bunch of things come together at once...

Still going to be miserable here on this forum though... too many lines have been drawn in the sand with Carr... every game, every pass will be scrutinized... he'll always be living in the shadow of Vince Evans

Some people thought he had a good year last year... :shrug:
Started shitty but improved. I hope he doesn’t start slow again. We need him, AB, Williams, #3 WR, Waller and Jacobs on the same page quick. By the end of the year, if I don’t feel like I did in 2016, that we can/should score every time we have the ball, I’ll relent.

Well, now that’s an unholy alliance:

@hawaiianboy
@NIPS
@Birdwell
@Sleet

The 4 horsemen of the apocalypse!

A great year would be winning a bunch of games and having us competing week to week.

All the fake bullshit, analytical stats people want to spew out when we get trounced every week does nothing for me. Garbage time dump offs or 70 percent completion in a 30 point blow out doesnt move my needle.

Win games. Be a leader. Show some toughness. Make big plays.

The Carr 'haters' arent asking for much. Win some fuckin ball games for a change.

Don't be putting me on Team Sparq... lot of the complaints are legit... some such as the win-loss record are unfair simply because of the lack of talent on the roster... few QBs can put a team on their back and carry it... Carr isn't an Andrew Luck type capable of doing that... he needs help via coaching and surrounding talent... which he has this year, at least on offense

Well, I like Mayock, Gruden and Guenther. We added talent on O. We have youth on D. I’m hoping it’s just a matter of time until these pieces come together.

I like Mayock and Gruden as well.

I also hope all the pieces come together and we kick ass every year.

Liking or disliking the QB doesnt effect that.

Thing is, process normally works in the NFL. GM and HC affect the outcome of franchisees. And we have the best combination we have had since Al still had his fastball and Gruden was first hired. I think Carr’s gonna deliver what this team is capable of winning. I’m excited to watch how this collection of players comes together (Hard Knocks) and measures up (Game Day).

Well if anything I think this will be a fun as hell season.

I think @hawaiianboy is wrong. The grumpiest and bitchiest seasons are already over. We can’t play any worse.

Eventually we have to trend up and start winning again.

Heh. Left out Guenther.

Made me laugh.

Red/JDR/Carr not sustainable
Mayock/Gruden/QB is sustainable

8+wins Carr’s our QB next year
7 wins Carr’s likely are QB next year
6 wins it depends on how bad was our D
5 wins Carr’s injured or gone

Instead of cherry picking stats why don't you just list Derek's strengths?

:wtf1:

What stat? Cherry who?

I was predicting outcomes based on wins.

Carr’s strengths: Arm talent, quick release, work ethic.

It still depends on how Carr plays even in the wins.
If they win 8 games but should of won 11 but for Carr fucking up and throwing interceptions and turtling, then that's a factor in saying bye-bye to Derek.
The same goes for the other win scenarios.
The assumption is the fewer wins must mean Carr is injured or the defense sucks.
What if they win 8 games but Carr was meh and the defense played great?

Point is Carr's performances are still going to be scrutinized even in the wins.
