OK so what is your plan RE: QB

Well. My fear is that he is JT Barrett. I mean. I know the anyone but Carr sentiment is stronger than its ever been here right now.

But if we are gonna do it, let’s do it right.

We’re at unstoppable force meets immoveable object right now in terms of fan desire and obvious moves Gruden would realistically make.

Remember Nick Foles getting a huge contract. Look at him being benched for Minshew. A 6th rounder taking a 80 million dollar QB's job before he plays 5 games :yikes:

One in the hand fellas. Don't quit your job until you have a new one. Gruden is not going to purposely downgrade Carr. Right now you have a solid game manager who can play well for you. He will keep that in his pocket until its able to be upgraded. Why gamble on being 2-14 again year one in Vegas. Not going to happen unless Carr shits the bed these final weeks.

Gruden is going to fall for some 5th round pick ass QB to develop. Carr will play mediocre in Vegas and we will revisit this next year with a better roster. Sucks but that is what it is barring a trade for Tua IMO.

Most of these guys (drafted late) that are playing a lot of games are coming back down to earth though. Don’t forget Minshew was already benched.

The Tom Brady story is just so rare. Typically it’s gonna be a guy a team takes in the 1st or 2nd, with a few outliers sprinkled in.

The Raiders aren't going to Vegas and put some journeymen scrub like Bridgewater or Borkles back there... and I'm not confident in our ability to develop a draft pick quickly...

I'd watch what Carolina does with Cam Newton personally... he'd be the one vet that would put asses in the seats...
We’re already sold out next year. ;)

We're a team whose mystique was built on Snake, world class speed, a menacing D and a take what you want brand of football. Yeah, it was years ago but that shit matters. And we're about to be called the Las Vegas Raiders, playing in the gambling HQ of the world. If I owned this team, no way I'd start my tenure with a mediocre scared ass QB like Carr. Fuck it, take two rookie QBs, roll the proverbial dice and play to your history and name. Anything but trotting our the scared preacher QB.

Yep. I’m all for doing it. But I don’t think it’s gonna happen unless there is a legitimately better QB sitting there when we pick. And that’s up to Mayock and Gruden to decide.

The only one right now that I think is better is Burrow. I’d say Tua. But he scares me injury wise. And, quite honestly, I think he’s over rated. His back up came in and did just fine throwing to three guys who will start day 1 in the NFL and handing off to another.

And as much as I wouldn’t care, I don’t see Gruden dumping Carr and going with Mariota/Winston/Dalton etc.

I really can’t make the call as to what they will do right now.

You think Peterman or Jordan Love can get this team more than 1 or 2 wins?

Well. We take this team. Let’s assume we add a couple of pretty good FA’s. We have 5 picks in the top 100. We have a bunch of guys who statistically are very likely to be improved going into years 2 and 3.

It’s simply gonna be an improved roster.

Yes. I do believe that Glennon, Peterman or possibly even Kizer could “dork”( @007 I keep stealing your line lol) their way to 5-6 wins.

The problem is a problem that 22 teams have tho. Thats the bigger issue. If we wanna fix it, we have to go big and land Burrow, Tua or Lawrence IMO. Im down with any of those obvious upgrades.

I expect us to use a 3rd and develop someone or wait. Carr can be upgraded but it will take some smart moves to get us close enough to the big 3 over the next two years (I'm guessing some other ballers will appear at QB, those are my current big 3 tho)

Fellas, we are at a cross roads.

Not a gloat post, not picking a fight here. I think this could be a place to discuss our options at this point?

What would your plan be right now. @NIPS always asked what the plan would be if we moved on last year. @DonkeyKilla didnt want to make a change for the sake of a change. I get it. @gst8 wanted to give him one more chance. Some guys were done 3 years ago.

So we are here again.

Do you keep Carr and draft a guy in the mid rounds?

Do you trade him and remove the bandaid right off the hop?

Do you sign a veteran stop gap and use a first rounder to develop behind him?

Personally I don't think you can truly embrace a change with Derek in the building. It would be like keeping Mariota in Tennessee when he's lost the team, the coaches and the fans. You gotta pull the plug and have a clean break.

So whats your plan?

Right now for ME: I evaluate the QB's and see what could be there in the middle of round one. Maybe I start exploring the idea of trading UP for a guy. It wasnt long ago that Philly and the Rams orchestrated those massive trade ups into picks 1/2 for Goff/Wents (Right or wrong both those teams made a Super Bowl in the last two years).

I 100 percent draft a guy this year though. Even if it is round 3 or a trade up into round 2. You have to have a young guy in here with some fire and who doesnt have the stink of 100 losses on him.

I go on and trade Carr while he's still got some value...I'd really consider hard about going after Winston if he's let go in Tampa.. i know, I know.. but he might be perfect here.. dude can get out of a jam and fucker can run for yards and he can hit those 10-15 yard routes.. it's anything over that, that he struggles.. but we dont fuckin throw it that far anyways... If not, then draft one.. Go into Vegas with a new QB and lets hope it works out.. I fuckin really do hate to cross fingers and hope shit dont get worse but got damn it's all we got left-

I agree there are only two players available this offseason that would get Derek Carr cut. Tua or Burrow. Id even expect we would red shirt Tua. SO really the only QB I think could bump Carr before Vegas is Burrow. Anything else risks this team going backwards from our current 6 win status haha I don think we take that gamble. This team wants to be .500+ in Vegas.

Gruden has to know Carr is his main problem.
He watches the game film week in and week out.
If we see it, he certainly sees it.

You will get no argument from me amigo.

I remember joking with people this summer that Tampa/Oakland/Tennessee should just swap out their "franchise QB busts" for a change of scenery.

Winston would be a decent fit with Gruden IMO.

Looking at the trade value chart....

It would probably cost us, at a minimum.

Both of our 1sts and either a 2 next year, or two of our 3rd rounders this year.

And that’s with leaving 500 ish points on the table (teams aren’t winning lately in trade downs).

It would be very pricey.

If you believe Burrow or Tua are the man...The value isnt a big deal.

I would consider it. Mayock will crush it on day 2/3 anyways so no biggie.

I would also consider Fromm/Eason/Hurts at the back end of round one.

All options on the board haha.

Honestly, I have a feeling we’re in for a long 18 months folks. We should probably spend some time working out the rules of engagement because this is likely to get ugly. FML.

With as insurmountable as just us turning it over one time feels this year, I’d have hard time watching Winston.

Id roll with Mariota over him in that respect. Plus the wheels.

Plus.

You know he beat KC in KC, in the playoffs not too long ago.

Totally fair point.

If I'm being honest I think I lean to a Winston/Fitzpatrick in these replacement threads because they are the anti Carr.

I'm just so done with small ball, pussy ass no show football.

Sling it around, be a bonehead now and again...And make some fuckin plays.

Fitz had no business getting the Dolphins 3 wins this year LOL.

I hear the Bears need a QB. Can we get another two 1's out of em for Carr?
