Cowboys are in an interesting situation. No fucking way Dak is worth that money. Are they ever a SB contender with him and that contract? I'd love to see one of these teams be ballsy enough to trade a guy like that and reinvest that money into the team. Shit, put $40/m more into the Cowboys and even Dalton might be able to drag their ass across the finish line.

I don't see any way he is...

If it was me, I'd tell him go hold out and go sign Cam Newton who is pretty much what they are hoping Dak turns out to be

Same except I’d try and trade him first.

There’s a breaking point though and he’s past it at that money.

I wonder how much impact Wash has had in fucking up the QB market. Wash did the right thing by not extending Cousins, but then failed to replace him with a good QB on a cheap rookie contract. Instead Wash went sideways with Smith, and fucked itself anyway.

Dal should have drafted Love and traded Dak. That would have been sweet. While I think Dak is better than Goff, the Rams are shedding contracts in part b/c of him.

I’d start making overtures to Watson if I were them and get him to start making waves in Houston.

Weird how many teams have already repeated our mistake in signing Carr to a big deal. Thing is, I think Red mistakenly thought Carr was better than he is. I don’t know how the Rams and Vikes thought Goff and Cousins are better than they had shown before getting extended.

Reggie signed Carr to an extension coming off a year where Carr played like a stud. There was no reason at the time to think Carr would slide into a funk. The signing was the correct move at the time.

Like. Clowney, Dak might have over valued his worth.

Unlike our owner Jones isn’t a complete dummy.

Incredible to think there was a time when Al and his crew might be all alone scouting HBCU football players, or one of only a handful of teams sending scouts. Racism is one thing. But so many executives being so willing to cut off their nose to spite their face...

Was Al the only one who saw the '36 Olympics? Be hateful all you want. But god damn. If Jesse Owens didn't have you rethinking who could play football for your team...god damn.

    • I've lived in Mississippi all my life.
    • Raised by my overtly racist grandfather and my "They're all God's children. You mustn't hate them. Just don't try to make friends with them. They'll kill you." grandmother.
    • My dad, aunt, and uncles all leaned more towards papaw's thinking, but not quite as bad (They didn't say some random racist shit as a friendly conversation starter like that crazy old bastard. :pound:)
    • I used to buy weed from the son of a card carrying Klansman.
    • I grew up with guys who either weren't racist or were only mildly racist when they went to prison, but were astoundingly racist when they came home.

I reckon I've seen as many different flavors and styles of racism as Bubba Gump has shrimp recipes.

    But I ain't never...

    I said not never...

Never have I ever seen nothing like no "I'd rather lose with an all white team than win with a single black player." type shit.

That's some antique, vintage racism that Donald Sterling couldn't replicate on his best day. They don't make 'em like that no more.

Damn, man. The most racist people I've ever known would say there's such a thing as going too damn far with the shit.

I understand that in group/out group thinking is an evolved trait. But motherfuck.

I would sign my junkie ex-girlfriend from 20 years ago if the bitch could run a decent dig route. How the shit did they manage to become wealthy enough to own football teams without learning to keep business separate from personal?

It ain't even the racism that bugs me. It's the self-defeating stupidity that I can't get past. :lmao:

Not really. There was no urgency to sign Carr early like that. Fuck you Reggie.

I had no problem with it at the time. If he had signed Carr later we'd be on the hook for more money.

If BOB thinks getting a 2nd round pick for Hopkins was a good deal, he'd probably spray his shorts if someone offered two 1sts for Watson.

I really don't want to know, but did you happen to see how that compares to the rest of the league?

Daks #'s are more impressive than what they appear to be by watching him play... he is impressively tough and can be clutch with his feet, and fearless trying to make a play, but he is an absolute bonehead that throws boners in the most important situations. david throws in the dirt behind the line on 3rd and 8... Dak throws it 20 yards down field to bounce off the empty turf.

The guy is just so mediocre, but physically impressive and impressively tough.... I only know because he was one of my fantasy QB's so I followed.

the guy has a star studded O-line, and superstar RB and a deep receiving corp he can look pretty good... and get you to the playoffs where you lose scoring 14 points.

I just wouldn't want the guy around... I certainly wouldn't pay him... he's one of those guys with a wall... you could say Warren Moon(who was obviously a much more developed passer), or Andy Dalton... these guys just have no future succeeding at the very highest levels of NFL competition, they merely hold a job.
