The best argument against Cook. But it assumes Murray's peaked and Dixon or Booker is that guy (and Washington's not).

Yet, depth at ILB went largely unaddressed.

I'm not a Henry honk but I can say that Murray has NEVER run with the same power that he has. Murray is simply not a power back. He has the frame to be but he's soft. Murray showed that he simply doesn't get better as the game goes on...he gets worse. His best fit is as a change of pace back with 5-8 touches per game.

Put Washington behind this line and he'll run circles around Murray.

You really believe that Murray is a lead back?

    By default, I suppose.

But, that's something to hope for, at least.

I think you just listed a bunch of reasons that Murray shouldn't be a lead back. Impossibe to keep guys clean in the NFL, you are listing the things that separate good backs from jags.

    Jags? Splain please Lucy.

I've said from the outset Murray has his flaws. I've said I prefer to upgrade. I've also said there's no real hurry to do so, and it appears the guys running the Raiders agree.

However, if this draft had 5 high-quality RB's and the FA pool of DB's was more reasonably priced, I wouldn't have been surprised to see us go that way.

I think we didn't go FA RB because we're okay with Murray for another season, especially since we bulked up the OL, and because we'd rather grab a lower priced young guy in the draft next season (probably with some sort of knee injury, lol).

Not necessarily expectations. My comments were about what Murray lacks. It's rare to find everything in one back.

Murray's one selling point over being a jag is his breakaway speed, but as many have noted, including me, he needs some clean lanes to get there. Not because of a lack of acceleration, more because of the way he runs. He's not confident pushing through tight spots. Give him some space and he'll take off, and run hard.

Did I hear that right? The Browns drafted 5 WR's?

Insanity. Trade out of a potential franchise QB to draft a WR group. That's the Browns for you. I understand Coleman, he's gonna be good. Four more ? When they have Jack shit at nearly every position on defense ? Wow.
