Myles Jack

Well.... Jack had a private workout with the Raiders a couple days ago so if he is the pick I will assume Reggie and Co. did their due diligence.

Not sure my heart could take it.

Athletic phenom...but production isn't anything to get excited about.

Versatile as hell...but his primary position may not be his best position.

May well be the best coverage LB, best SS and 2nd best RB in this class...and we need all three.

Doesn't make many plays behind the line, and that's kinda important for a LB. Maybe less so for a safety.

Athletically, could profile as a Luke Kuechly type of ILB. Would be a rarity as a SS, though.

Over thinking it. We still don't even know what Mack is other than a guy who can be named All Pro twice in one season. Maybe Jack is the same type of guy. Wouldn't that be something?

I like Myles Jack.

I also like prospects without spinal injuries, heart transplants, foot problems and multiple brain surgeries.

Maybe we should stay away.

Reggie will get the prayer group together and have a laying of hands ritual performed on that knee.

We good.

This really hasn't proven to be an area of strength for Reggie...

Ok, we can call it a #pullthepost bet.
The private workout seems pointless then. You are talking about taking him off the board or a Day 3 type of injury.

I'm just speculating like anyone else but the signs are there.

Severity of injury, delayed recovery time line, reports of the chondral defect... it adds up to some serious question marks amigo.

Not going to turn on my fellow Bruin. Can't make me. You've got a bet.

That ship has sailed.

They're talking chondral defect now in which case microfracture surgery is the likely next step.
That is an unsubstantiated rumor.

That is an unsubstantiated rumor.

It's also more likely than not.

Dude suffers what is described at the time as a "significant" meniscus tear, is on the back end of his recovery timeline and the knee still isn't right, multiple reports surface about teams considering his knee condition to be degenerative, then a report surfaces going a step further in specifically identifying him as having the chondral defect.

Smoke, meet fire...

Or a team is trying to tank his stock. That happens regularly at this time.

Don't forget slot CB on his resume. This team has a LOT of versatility on defense. MEJ, Mack, Irvin, A.Smith, S.Smith, Carrie... Myles Jack would fit right in.

I get why it would be concerning. I would love to see how he moves on grass right now. That's what Reggie and Norton would be able to see in that workout. Hopefully they had team doctors standing on the sideline with them helping them look for red flags.

Jack's measurables compare favorably to Kam Chancellor, Thomas Davis and George Iloka--2 guys that would look great on this defense. At LB, he compares to Alec Ogletree and EJ Henderson among others.

Also, one more thought regarding double-dipping the Knee Bros. I would only be willing to take both lottery picks if the Raiders acquired more draft assets. Otherwise, I'm not dropping anything earlier than a 5th on Jaylon Smith (where Raiders have 2 selections). And I imagine Smith going earlier than the 5th round.
