Reports noting Raiders running back Josh Jacobs‘ DUI arrest in Las Vegas early Monday morning said that he was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and his mug shot provides evidence of one of those injuries.

TMZ obtained that photograph and it shows Jacobs with sutures holding together a large laceration on his forehead. The police report from the incident says Jacobs told officers that he thinks he fell asleep at the wheel, which makes him very lucky that his injuries were minor ones.

The police report also says that Jacobs told officers he’d been drinking and that there was an odor of alcohol on his breath, but that Jacobs passed a field sobriety test after being taken to the hospital.

They took him to the hospital to do a field sobriety test?

Bigger people after time has passed stand a chance of beating a blood test too. The reported speed, I guess, could be explained by falling a sleep and pushing the gas peddle (as opposed to relaxing and slowing down). Wonder if Jacobs called his attorney before taking any test or answering any questions.

Either he had injuries that needed immediate attention or good police work . . . as you previously alluded!

With the size gash he had on his head I am sure he was bleeding pretty profusely. Doubt they could have done a field sobriety test at that point. Probably couldn’t see with the blood in his eyes. Certainly sounds f-ed up though if he was drunk and intentionally driving over 100mph at an airport...

He's a stupid fucking idiot for what he did. I don't care how young or affluent he is. You never get behind the wheel under the influence for any reason.

Or, maybe it was just late, he was tired after a football game, traveling, celebrating and waiting to sober up, and fell a sleep behind the wheel. That’s what his lawyer is suggesting, at least.

This is what I tell my own children. I wish my younger self was as diligent.

I am very fortunate as I imagine a lot of us here are as well.

I'm glad my kids didn't do 1/10th of the stupid shit I did growing up.

I’ve been very open with my kids about my stupid stuff. I had two parents of their friends call to complain that there was drinking at our home. I told the parents I was shocked. Lol.

My daughters had 5 friends over for New Years (my wife and I went out to a friend’s house), they got drunk, two of them threw up, everyone spent the night, and nobody got hurt. We are still in quarantine. Lol.

My daughters’ friends tell me they don’t tell their parents anything. I find that sad and my wife and I lucky that our kids do.

I like to think my kids are more responsible but expecting people to make good decisions while intoxicated is naive. It sucks. I can sit here with the life's wisdom a father has and agree what a terrible thing it is but there's really just no calling it. Most of us have done it even if our own parents taught us otherwise. I guess I'm lucky that neither kid is much of a drinker that I'm aware of but it only takes once.

I’ve done that driving home from Manhattan Beach. Stopped in Westwood and slept on Sepulveda until I woke up and finished the drive. Driving tired sucks.

Driving tired can overcome even the most primal instinct, survival. Your mind drifts and next thing you know if you're not careful you are asleep. I've known people that got into head on collisions. When you are tired you have to get sleep no amount of caffeine can replace sleep.

The lawyers, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, said that Jacobs was charged Monday morning by the Clark County district attorney’s office only “with failure to exercise due care.”
